Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.Patrick

@James S - sorry, my bad, too many late nights! I meant to say that I would like Shadows for graphics that I add to the EG layers - if I drag in a PNG etc., then there is no shadow (I was using a fancy gradient circle I had made elsewhere, but then found I had to recreate it in PPro because I was missing the shadow). Then I found out how I can't make a simple circle and constrain the aspect ratio. (Now THAT is a feature I really need for circular masks for picture-in-picture.) Thanks.

Please add Drop Shadow for Shapes! Otherwise I have to import them as layers.

Also having this problem doing a simple picture-in-picture. Scaled clip to 80% and added circular mask. I cannot add Cross Dissolve effect without the full size mask appearing as a black circle during the fade up. It doesn't appear when I scrub the timeline, but does appear if I Play or Render.
I tried nesting the clip, assuming it was a rendering order issue (and I need to nest to add a drop shadow), and was surprised that I still could not add a regular, simple fade up & down. The only fix is to use Opacity keyframes.

Agree. When a Track is locked, there is a pattern applied. So some kind of pattern or icon would be needed.

James: "So it sounds like you are asking for a Graphic property that says 'don't render me' for specified Layer(s)?"
Yes, that's it. I lay a transparent gray box over the bottom of the sequence to remind me what area the transcriptions will obscure later on. But I have to remember to disable the eyeball before I render.
Another option I would like is to be able to Enable/Disable the eyeball on Locked layers. AE allows this. Very handy for toggling on/off the visibility of guide layers (which I normally lock).

Agree. I need to add a "subtitle guide layer" so I can tell how much space to allocate for the subtitle overlay. After Effects' Guide Layer is SO handy for screen guides like this. If you nest a comp, the guide layers also don't render.
I'm also trying to figure out if it's possible to use Chapter Markers in an mp4 file. Any progress on this? I want to be able to make the chapter markers in PrPro and then embed them in movie on export. Is this possible?
I just found the Subler app, which does allow you to add markers (just open mp4, add chapters and save). https://bitbucket.org/galad87/subler/wiki/Home
