    I thought I was going mad as my Windows 7 work machine doesn't have this issue. Turns out it's using an older version of AE.

    Now I'm working from home on Windows 10 I have to manually swap when I connect my headphones. What a pain the in ass.

    Premiere does this so much better than after effects. I don't know why they haven't copied their thumbnail preview system to After Effects yet.

    I import my clips one by one as I want to use them so that I never have to sift through the clips in the Project tab because it's so unintuitive.
