All,
first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.
As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.
Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?
People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

Thanks for the feedback Patrick.
Firstly, I've just been sitting here exporting a series of rough edits for a client and I think the most frustrating thing is the fact that I have to click "...MORE" to get to the bitrate and other settings. Having it open and clicking "...LESS" if you want to would be my preference as the default.
The reason I don't want to create a bunch of presets is that my output settings change a lot throughout a project and I would like to not have to scroll through a lot of self-made presets to attempt find one that suits what I'm trying to output at that time. That's a massive slow down for my workflow.
For example, I create a lot of content for probably the biggest car company in the world, certainly the oldest. I create a very large variety of outputs, including TVCs, youtube content, instagram content, car specific app content, visual effects videos and much more. I can create multiple versions of one specific piece of content to suit different output requirements. These will usually differ for almost every piece of video I'm creating. Depending where I am at any time in the process of a specific video, I'll need to vary my export settings, from bitrate, to whether or not I require timecode burn in etc. Creating presets for all of these is just not feasible, as needs change a lot and requirements will be different for so many pieces of the content I make.
As far as beginners being able to 'find' the export window, we have all been beginners at one time and we all managed to find the export window just fine.
I agree with those asking for a floating window, or even better the ability to move and attach the window elsewhere as we can almost all others.
I look forward to seeing what changes come in the next version, however I'll remain rolled back on my main machine until becomes usable.
As a positive, though separate area, I frickin love the transcription abilities you've added. It has changed my world when looking for a replacement word in an interview. It's still clunky as heck, but I'm looking forward to seeing the next version.
Thanks for listening!

Here is an example of part of my workflow that has completely gone:
Hit the shortcut to export
Set the settings, set the destination and file name
Export and send to client
Have the client ask for a change
Make the change
Hit export
Click on the destination
Click on the previous file to overwrite, or use the same name and alter the version number at the end
Don't touch the settings as I have already set them.
Export again. Two integral parts to this workflow have now completely gone and losing them has slowed down this workflow remarkably. That is:
The ability to have the export setting autosave once set for a sequence
Click the destination and set the name using a previous exportPlease bring these back!

I've been using this a lot over the last few days and I've gotten used to the new layout. It's still terrible and time consuming. I'm rolling back until Adobe do something about this.

The fact that the export window no longer keeps the settings of the previous export is terrible. Having to change the settings every time is ridiculously time consuming. Everything us pro editors do is designed to make our workflow faster, but this slowed me down at lease 9 times today alone. Having to go into effects and turn on the timecode setting, having to expand the video window for H264 to change the bitrate. I usually want the same settings repeatedly during rough cuts, This is crazy.

@Peter Berthet
Thanks so much Peter! This worked for me, but it takes a lot of time to rebuild the whole thing and you'd have to do it every time you start Premiere. This gave me an idea for a quicker fix and it worked.
My quick fix:
Drag your second monitor window into your main monitor to cover your other Premiere window. Using the dropdown menu change the layout to all panels. Then change back to your 2 monitor setup, drag your second screen window back onto the second monitor. Bingo.
You'll have to do this every time you time start premiere, but it only takes a few seconds.
EDIT: I'm on a Mac

New error. The tilde key to go full screen no longer works on any windows on a second monitor.

I have my monitors set up with the effects window in the secord monitor. Now when I adjust the placement of a clip a few pixels (or any other control outside the sequence window) I can't use the keyboard to play the clip, or my arrows to move between the clips without first clicking back into the sequence window.
Workaround for me was reverting to 14.2. But I've lost the new scene edit detection, which I use a lot.
Please fix this asap Adobe, this one is a workflow killer!

Hi all,
I haven't had a chance to roll back yet, as I started a small project before I realised what was happening with the export window. I've been slowly fumbling my way through exports using the new UI, but I just decided to send one to Media Encoder to remind myself why I was upset and oh my, when I saw the old export window pop I got emotional. There it was in all it's glory. An easy to use, quick, familiar interface that just works.
I miss it so much I was suddenly torn between sorrow and anger. As I've said before, I'm not opposed to change, but wow, this change was too big and far too clunky and slowifying (coined) to just drop on us all in this way. Yes, I know, research, focus groups etc etc, but like many here, I just can't comprehend how positivity was found in these changes overall. Reorganising to speed us up would always be welcome, but this is not that. Not by a long shot.
Cheers
