According to the Apple white paper, one of the big benefits of shooting ProRes RAW is that you can easily match LOG formats from other cameras. Without a RAW to LOG conversion, this isn't possible and nearly defeats the purpose of ProRes RAW support.

Also, here is a link to a video that explains the workflow within FCPX. It is very easy to work with ProRes RAW in FCPX.

This is an example of what is needed inside FCPX in order to work with the footage. It's as simple as dropping it into the project, selecting a version of LOG from a dropdown and you're done.
It handles everything... it takes the RAW linear footage and conforms it to a more familiar LOG workspace.

Looks like this has been implemented in the 14.5 beta: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta/discuss-prores-raw-raw-to-log-conversion-support/m-p/11413274?page=1#M850
