I can't believe Adobe forced that new export window on us while at the same time so stubbornly refusing to listen to feedback from those of us who's workflows do not work with this convoluted mogrt organization in the Essential Graphics panel. My team loves using mogrts but every time we're forced to deal with the organizational structure of the interface it drives us all crazy. Just please allow us to set up folders and sub folders!

I just don’t understand the refusal and pushback from Adobe against the users on this. We need a folder option for our workflows!

Similar to Annette Rays (from 2 years ago!) my group is using hundreds of .mogrt files for some shows and within that some we have a choice to use and some we don’t. So it would be really, really useful if we could say have a main folder for each show, then sub folders for things we can choose from and things we can’t like the main body and lower thirds for example. .mogrt files are great and we love them, but it’s becoming to unwieldy sometimes to practically use in the current form.

But for some reason we seem to just be told to use the hamburger menu that doesn’t let us sub-folder things and in the end just makes a list so long it’s no more clear to use than the regular mess. I work with 6 other editor and all of us just want a folder structure we can tailor to our individual workflows here. And we shouldn’t have to rely on a 3rd part plugin that you have to register for and may or may not work after each update for a workaround.

Just please give us the freedom to organize the essential graphics panel they way that works best for each of us… and yea that’s a folder option!

    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

I really don’t have much more to add that hasn’t already been said about the new interface other than I agree with all the criticisms of it. But I think the real frustration for me (and here) is Adobe’s response to that criticism and the overall direction of development with things like this new interface.

Adobe seems to be allotting resources to making the program ‘simpler’ for some users while what I need is more powerful tools and freedom use them. Why are you developing things like this that people aren’t asking for, when the feature request page’s top items have been ‘under review’ for years? Seriously Adobe is working on stuff like this while the request for color chart support has been under review for… four years. That was a basic workflow five years ago and it’s still not in premiere. And those things we’re told are still ‘on hold’ so devs can work on making the program more stable, yet here we get this interface change and the program still has major stability issues.

I don’t need a new hand holding import interface, my team needs a better color corrector workflow and interface! (You want to copy something rom Resolve, copy that!) But what do we get, an auto-color feature that we will never use because we, you know actually do our color grading ourselves. We don’t need a new export interface that hides all the ‘scary’ settings, we desperately need a way for the Adobe exchange to round trip more than once per project from Premier to Audition. We need a way that we can finish audio in Audition and still be able to revisit the session a week latter after the client inevitably makes changes in premiere without loosing all our previous work in Audition. But what does Adobe spend time on? Porting over a couple of effects from Audition into Premiere seemingly for users who are intimidated by Audition in the first place. This list can go on and on.

I see a lot of people asking ‘who are these professionals’ who like this change, and I’ll bet that’s the disconnect with Adobe here. When a lot of us think ‘professional’ we think of TV, film, news, documentary, add agencies, or just general high-end production work. But technically a kid just out of school doing their first gigs for a wannabe ‘social media influencer’ is a ‘professional’ if they are getting paid. And from Adobe’s point of view, they are also paying customers. So yea this interface change is just the latest move that gives many of us the feel like Adobe is going in the direction of developing a product for the latter type of ‘professional’ at the expense of those of us that want more complex and stable tools and the frustration about that is coming out now.

Unfortunately, I need to change the status of this feature request. While we anticipated being able to share the new Projects feature in our Public Beta release, for which Bins were a component, the realities of the pandemic and related business priorities required the Audition team to focus efforts on other ongoing projects. At this time, I cannot provide an estimated date when Bins or related organizational features may be introduced to the Audition session format.
