    You can do this: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using//basics-rendering-exporting.html#specify_filenames_and_locations_for_rendered_output

    When you make a template you like, check the "Default" checkbox.

    Something like this may work for you:
    [projectFolder]\renders\[compName].[fileextension]

    Or to go another folder outside your project folder
    [projectFolder]\..\renders\[compName].[fileextension]
