    If you have a numpad Enter key, that will apply the edit and close the dialog.

    This typically works in lots of applications with multi-line text fields (like chat apps), not just AE.

    You’re basically asking for Separate Dimensions for Scale instead of just Position. Ignoring the fact that Separate Dimensions is horribly broken and ruins existing ease velocities, this is the existing suggestion from a few years ago: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911311-after-effects/suggestions/33874048-separate-dimensions-on-scale-property
