We can set a default font for replacing missing fonts, why can't we set a default font in the first place?

This matters b/c when cycling thru a lot of projects, you can easily neglect or overlook a setting and suddenly important mogrt assets or render files are in the wrong place and get lost or start clogging up a boot drive. Seems like an easy setting to add. Also, there is basically NEVER a time in 22 years as a professional editor where I wanted scratch disks to default to the folder my project was in or to default to a location in my boot drive's library or documents folder. Thx!

    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

The new export window adds steps to find presets and extra clicks to open up the various options. I understand why it might be easier to use for some folks, but I would very much like an option to return to the old dialog window, or at least an option to format this new full-screen one in that way. The fact that all of my custom presets are not right in the pulldown menu is a defect. Having to open up another window and search for them is super annoying.

    Hi all,

There are two parts to this request:

    1. Ensuring that proxies are created respecting changes that have already been applied to media via Interpret Footage.

    2. Ensuring that changes in Interpret Footage are applied to proxies that have already been created.

The first part was done and is in v23 or later of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder. The second part is being worked on but I don't have a release data to share at this time.

    Regards,

    Fergus

I'm still unhappy that this stopgap fix isn't actually the real solution, but... it's better than a hole in the head and I'm using it today, as noted in the release notes for Media Encoder v22.6. Um... it doesn't work. I've interpreted some 59.94 and 29.97 fps clips in premiere to 23.976, and then sent them to ME to make proxies, and ME is continuing to read and render them at 59.94 and 29.97 respectively, rather than 23.976. Am I missing something?

Samuel Neff: Tough but fair. You're exactly right.

Fergus, do you guys understand the problem we're having? There's no issue with creating proxies that needs to be fixed. Proxy creation is solid. The issue is that Premiere can't seem to treat the proxies the same as it treats the original media.

I agree completely with these other posts. This proposed fix sounds like it will create more headaches. Proxies should be a clone of whatever the original source is. Premiere should apply interpret footage settings to the proxy as they’re being applied to the original source.

This would be helpful for situations where non-*****-able cameras accept LTC on set. To be clear, we want to interpret the timecode recorded as sounds on an audio track into actual timecode which can be applied to the clip.

I'm starting to find this issue comes and goes (at least in some sequences) if the current section of the timeline that I can see contains multicam clips. No multicam, problem goes away. But if I can see the multicam, and waveforms are enabled, then it comes back. Seems like some kind of bug with waveforms and multicam?
