Riccardo maybe it's not about CBR vs. VBR but about 1 pass and 2 pass ? In general I would suggest testing others exporters, or moving to the NAS after export

An error occurred while saving the comment

Someone is saying they switched from AFP to SMB and now it's working... Anyone else tested this ?

You could also try to render in a temporary folder, then move the file to the NAS, This will be an official feature of AfterCodecs V2

AfterCodecs Exporter for Adobe CC https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs

An error occurred while saving the comment

Austin are you sure it's an issue because you're exporting to your NAS? ? Seems like normal H264 encoding issues.

You could try our plugin AfterCodecs Exporter for Adobe CC https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs

we have a different encoder than Adobe builtin with more options. The one pass option is already really good

An error occurred while saving the comment

What codecs did you use ? What software to play the file ?

You could try to export with AfterCodecs Exporter for Adobe CC https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs

there is a free 500 frames trial, or H264 is free when resolution is < 720p

Miguel, Noah, Kristina, did you give Influx Importer a try ? we're here to solve any issue you have with MKV import inside Adobe

An error occurred while saving the comment

Sure you're right. Another issue is that you might get .MKV support but not the specific audio or video codec you have in your .MKV, so you also need to open separate UserVoice request for each codec you need behind the MKV container

An error occurred while saving the comment

Also, it's not just about .MKV : which codecs do you need support for ? Please send us your sample files ! We'll make it work with Influx Importer for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects https://www.autokroma.com/Influx

Can anyone share some .MKV files they would like to import into Premiere Pro ?

An error occurred while saving the comment

Unfortunately OBS produces VFR files so it will be buggy anyway

An error occurred while saving the comment

    What's wrong with Adobe is to remove older versions. Basically customers pay for a software, and are forced to update and to not be able to continue using previous features;
Anyway, can anyone send me some sample .MKV files you would like to import into Adobe Premiere Pro ? This is important for me
    Thanks
    Antoine

You could stay with the old version supporting MKV and downgrade your project manually https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJO4PlHASIs

Angelo, couldn't connect on the dropbox because of 2 Factor Authentification. However you can just "share a link" with dropbox and anyone with the link will be able to download it !

    Hi everyone,

Did anyone test the solution I provided ?

Our latest version of Influx Importer https://www.autokroma.com/Influx
caches decoded thumbnails, It would be great if you could test it and give us your feedback !

There is a free demo where this feature works for free ! By default it'll only work for new extensions and codecs. But you could turn "override adobe" checkbox in the settings of Influx temporarily just to test this feature and see if we can improve on Adobe Premiere Pro behavior

Thanks for all the information people. Seems like it's a complicated topic, let me ask one (hopefully) last question : as I see there are three places where the thumbnails could be constantly regenerated :

    * 1) Project Panel Bin with imported files
    * 2) Media Browser
    * 3) Timeline

Pierre-Louis Baranek when you mean a "bin" you're talking about 1), correct ? Otherwise, would a folder in the media browser also display this annoying bug of regeneration ? We can replicate some of the behavior sometimes, but not all the time, so the more info to clear up the situation, the better

    Thanks everyone
    Antoine

An error occurred while saving the comment

Thanks Sunny and Pierre-Louis for the info. Once you scroll to the first batch of clips without thumbnails, how fast are the thumbnails generated for those clips ?

An error occurred while saving the comment

    Hi everyone,
Could you confirm the amount of files per Bin/folder you have when it takes a lot of time to regenerate ?
    Thanks

An error occurred while saving the comment

Thanks for the video Luke. I can see two issues : first indeed the thumbnails are not cached, leading to constant regeneration. Second, some video files can be very slow to open and create the first thumbnails, slowing down even more the first issue. We'll study that more in depth

An error occurred while saving the comment

Thanks Boy, We don't see the bottom and right of the screen but yeah you're also talking about real video decoding here

An error occurred while saving the comment

Do you mean the thumbnails you see on the timeline takes time to appear ? Or you're talking about the Preview Monitor of the current sequence is laggy (slow decoding of the files) ? Thanks

An error occurred while saving the comment

Thanks Boy. Are you still talking about the Project Panel media explorer thumbnails ?

An error occurred while saving the comment

We're trying to improve this situation at Autokroma, could anyone share sample files that pose this kind of issues ? We don't reproduce this issue fully yet on our computers. Contact us here https://www.autokroma.com/contact

Would someone have a screenshot of where it is slow to show thumbnails ? Thanks !

An error occurred while saving the comment

Could anyone who has BRAW Studio and is dealing with hundreds of .braw tell us if the same is true for BRAW Studio (slow or fast thumbnails) ? It would help a lot ! Thanks

An error occurred while saving the comment

Andy you are completely right it's about the codecs being used

An error occurred while saving the comment

    Hi everyone
Could anyone tell me if it's happening with specific formats / codecs ? Are some codecs fast to generate the thumbnails and others slow ?

For example if you have .BRAW or REDRAW R3D files, are the thumbnail generated fast ? And then for others files for example H264 .mp4 files it is slow ?

If not, it would mean there' something wrong in general in Adobe Premiere Pro. If yes, then it is up to importers and we could improve this situation

Are there any features people need that are not covered by all the different tutorials (Nested Sequence exports), scripts and plugins (AfterCodecs MultiRender) ? It would be great to have more feedback on this, what's lacking right now

An error occurred while saving the comment

Danial what do you mean through edits ? Project Manager is quite buggy, maybe you should open a new separate uservoice for this

An error occurred while saving the comment

Kevin did you try one of the three solutions I provided ?

An error occurred while saving the comment

Travis, there are 3 solutions for now :

    - AfterCodecs MultiRender, it will export the result on the timeline https://www.autokroma.com/blog/Batch-Export-Clips-Quickly-Premiere-Pro-with-our-Panel/

    - PlumePack, multiple outputs were just added recently in v1.2 https://www.autokroma.com/PlumePack
Note : this won't take everything you added, only trim at the points of your editing, but it's very fast, faster than re encoding

    - Clips Exporter https://www.aescripts.com/clips-exporter

Please tell us if any of the solutions don't answer your problem here

An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment

Fede if you want only the clip trimmed it won't take any effect applied to it. It would only take the original files and remove unused frames. Is that what you want ?

An error occurred while saving the comment

This converts the original footage without any effects applied on them. Unless maybe if you add the effects on the Master tab, I didn't try this

An error occurred while saving the comment

Alexander my AfterCodecs solution includes all effect and anything you put on the timeline https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL95F-QjAL6dFlhsRDuaw8kp2tSlt7qGLe&v=ZvBEtJeceGE&feature=emb_title

Solution to this issue : some updates on AfterCodecs with MultiRender (tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL95F-QjAL6dFlhsRDuaw8kp2tSlt7qGLe&v=ZvBEtJeceGE&feature=emb_title )

    MultiRender :
    * Bug fix with forbidden filename characters (<>:"/|?*), now there is a protection removing them both in the Exporter and in the MultiRender Panel
    * If you are on Trial Mode, license will only be asked once

Update to the latest version here https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs/Download

An error occurred while saving the comment

Here's a youtube tutorial about my AfterCodecs MultiRender method to export individual clips from Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, scalable to hundreds of clips within a few clicks ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvBEtJeceGE&list=PL95F-QjAL6dFlhsRDuaw8kp2tSlt7qGLe

And yes Andrew this retains the original clip names, you can even prefix them in the output if you want. You can also rename the clips on the timeline (for after CC 2018 included) if you feel the need to

An error occurred while saving the comment

    Hi everyone,
I'm back on this feature and I solved this thanks to a Premiere Pro Panel, check this out ! https://autokroma.com/blog/Batch-Export-Clips-Quickly-Premiere-Pro-with-our-Panel/
Basically once you installed AfterCodecs our exporter plugin, just go into the AfterCodecs Panel, select the clips you want to export in the timeline, click a button on the panel, export, select AfterCodecs, tick the "MultiRender" checkbox and you're good to go !
    Takes about 20 seconds
    Cheers
    Antoine

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:

    - The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
    - It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
    - If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.

    Hi all,

I said three months ago that I would provide an update when I had more information to share.

While I don't have an update on when Z9 support is coming (other than to say it is not in 2022), I wanted to let you know that I do look at this thread and the Formats section of UserVoice regularly, usually daily.

While our list of priorities, is not exactly the order of popularity of the requests on this forum, it is close and you can see that there are several things we need to do that have a higher priority than N-RAW support.

I know that is frustrating to Z9 owners but I would rather be candid and open with you.

As before, I will provide an update when I have more information to share.

    Regards,

    Fergus

GIF is quite hard to compress, you'd loose a lot of the quality by reducing too much the filesize

An error occurred while saving the comment

Could anyone test AfterCodecs exporter https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs
there is a quality slider for you to reduce quality and lower filesize on GIF exports

It would help us see what's wrong and where we can improve

AfterCodecs free trial is limited to 500 frames, so if your GIF is under 500 frames you get the full file for free (without purchasing anything)

Sometimes you can also export MP4 to GIF websites, and what some people call GIF are behind the hood MP4 video files. For which websites do you need GIF ?

It might come from the plugin used and not Adobe, .BRAW is not officially supported. Are you using Blackmagic RAW BMD plugin ? Or Autokroma BRAW Studio ? Is the plugin up to date ?

    Hi Alexander
Could you isolate if the issue only applies for .BRAW files and not ProRes or H264 ? And which BRAW plugin are you using ?

    Hi Neil
Whats wrong with DCP Exports ?

Can anyone provide a file that is out of sync for the main issue here ?

If you help me fix this your problem will be solved very quickly, faster than waiting for Adobe

Could you share a file sample ?

Could you try to render .MOV with audio in WAVE using AfterCodecs ? https://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs
