    Actually, it turns out there is something similar--Watch Folders. Basically you create a new folder on your desktop, assign that folder to a Watch Folder preset in AME and select your output preset, and then you can just drag items into the folder on your desktop and they automatically convert.

    Only downside is that AME has to be open for it to work, i.e. dropping a file into the Watch Folder won't automatically open AME and start the conversion. The app has to be open in advance.

    Other than that little annoyance, it actually works quite well.

    Was just thinking the exact same thing. Figured there must be a way and went through the preset menus in AME and couldn't find anything. Droplets were so convenient.
