The problem still persits in July 2020! Premiere Pro does not use the GPU for processing CRM-files. Although you can draw the curtain over that for playback by using proxies, when it comes to exporting you can not get around that problem. Davinci Resolve is more than 100times faster rendering the same timeline with a similar grading.

As Wes noted, we are looking at many areas for optimization and have made strides in the last few releases already.

We recognize there are still many areas to improve performance and we are investing in appropriate areas.

Threads that are catch-alls are often non-actionable. Please keep giving us specific feedback on what workflows are slow for you.

Technical solutions may not always be as obvious as some people may be suggesting as the application architecture is often very different than people’s conception.

Short answer. Yes, we want to and will make it faster.

2020, July 13th, still no solution. C300 RAW can be played back with Resolve or Canon RAW Development at full resolution without any issues, on Premiere Pro it won't get fluid unless dropping the resolution to 1/4th. The GPU is not only used with 4% by PP when playing back CRM-files, while the CPU is maxxed out.

Same problem here. Canon RAW Development and Davinci Resolve have no problem playing the C300MK3 footage at full resolution, but with Premiere 14.3 I have to drop the resolution down to 1/4th to get a fluid playback

This is a great request that is certainly something we want to implement. Rest assured our engineers DO understand the importance of this feature and how to get the job done. We also know that the performance and stability of the app should be our #1 priority and that is where our focus is right now.

Please add support for color matching using color charts like the x-rite Colorchecker (Passport Photo or Video)! It would make things so much easier!
