Adobe has been well-known since the beginning for criminally inefficient resource usage, it's their reputation. Even the reader is hogging much more than any similar software, for no reason whatsoever. Maybe they are working hand in hand with hardware manufacturers, driving people to upgrade all the time because even a pdf file takes minutes to open?
Anyway, they are still making money by the ton, especially after switching to the monthly plan system, so why would they change? -

This is a great request that is certainly something we want to implement. Rest assured our engineers DO understand the importance of this feature and how to get the job done. We also know that the performance and stability of the app should be our #1 priority and that is where our focus is right now.

The Adobe "team" is too busy making features that are worse that useless (see the "Auto Reframe" tool); why would they waste time on useful features requested by lots of editors that already pay them monthly when they can try to attract new suckers?

We are actively working on this feature. I don't have a date to share yet but I'll update this message when I do.

No, this hasn't been fixed, and it probably won't be in the next years. Any free video software (be it player or editor) will easily handle variable frame-rate clips without a hitch, but in Premiere Pro you're almost guaranteed to have the audio out of sync. Shamelessly, Adobe charges money for it...

The Premiere Pro team at Adobe is probably comprised on one part-time intern, this is the only explanation I have for the number of features added or bugs fixed due to reports or suggestions here (somewhere around 1, maybe 2 per year, according to my observations). So don't hold your breaths.

They seem to be still "investigating", since more than a year ago. I guess the half an hour they allocated for it has not been enough, especially because it coincided with the coffee break.
Meanwhile, they release useless effects and invisible improvements to Premiere, but nothing ever happens to bugs reported and features requested (mostly by professional users, I might add) here. This "Uservoice" is just a sham.
