What would opening a source clip in the timeline offer, that opening it in the Source monitor doesn’t already support?

Please DO NOT eliminate the Legacy Title creator in future updates.

We understand that retiring a part of the software can create issues for some users. We are doing our best to make this a slow and steady process and are adding needed features along the way. Most importantly, we have added the ability to convert Legacy Titles into Source Graphics. While not all characteristics will translate perfectly, this should give you really good results in most cases.
We’re not just taking something away, we’re adding functionality to Essential Graphics constantly. Our team is working hard to make sure it meets your workflow needs. And if it doesn’t – we want to know about it.
If you feel that there is a specific feature missing in Essential Graphics please create a single UserVoice post for it, e.g. for Inner and Outer Strokes. This way it is much easier for others to vote on something actionable.

I'm not a power user of graphics in Premiere - if we need complex titling, AE is the better tool.
But, so far, my experience with with Essential Graphics has been disappointing. It seems under-featured for what it's supposed to be. Right now, I much prefer the UX of the Legacy tool to the new EGP.
The Legacy title tool is easy to use and very fast for creating and implementing simple titles.
One feature, in particular, that I want to maintain is the ability to save a title as an asset in a bin, and to duplicate and move the asset to other bins. I agree very strongly with everything that's been written below. Mick & Julien's comments in particular.
The old method of creating titles doesn't need to be eliminated.
The new EGP method needs to look, feel and behave more like the Legacy Title tool.

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.Patrick

If I'm understanding the suggestion, this would work like Avid's toggle source/record?
If so then definitely +1.
