Thanks for having a look at it. The last version it worked was 2017. It is easy to replicate:
- Create a comp, create a text with a certain font, let's say Arial
- Duplicate the layer two times
- Change the font in the third text, let's say Times
- Now select the first two text layers, which still have Arial and watch the character tab: It says Times now, even though both are Arial. In 2017 it would say Arial.
Sometimes the bug has further problems, that the character tab does not update after changing a font for multiple layers.Bob Weber supported this idea ·

I am surprised that this is not voted higher already, quite annoying bug and, as usual, takes Adobe years to fix... It is still broken in 2020 (17.0.0 Build 557).

Yes, that would be very handy e.g. when animating with several masks and the stroke effect. Of course a workaround would be to have one stroke effect for every shape and then animating either start or end, but this can get quite tedious if there are lots of lines to be drawn...

Totally agree as well! At the moment for several reasons I have to work in a comp with 150+ layers, changing the timing is a real pain. I am also very interested in a workaround, if there is one.

Several years later the bug is still there (Version 2022 22.2.0 Build 120). This must really be a very hard thing to fix or Adobe just does not care...
