Hello everybody!
(This post was co-authored by Tim Kurkoski (After Effects Product Owner), Andrew Cheyne (After Effects Engineering Manager), and Victoria Nece (After Effects Product Manager).)
This thread has been sitting here for quite a while without a response. To start, we want to apologize for that. We haven’t been ignoring you or your feedback – this is just a particularly complex topic. That said, it’s time for us to check in with you, clarify a few things, and give you an idea of what we’re looking at for the future of After Effects, especially when it comes to performance.
To start, we fully understand that you want After Effects to be as fast as it can be – utilizing your computer’s hardware resources to render as fast as possible. Over the last several years, we have been working on the performance of After Effects constantly. Sometimes those performance gains…

@BenSmith
Any change on the status of this? We have lots of AE mogrts and Premier Mogrts that if we could get them into Rush would really enable a lot of our team to do better quality work quicker. As per david's comments we have lots of teams chomping at the bits to get this functionality. Otherwise we have to train (& maintain) lots of people to use AE and Premiere Pro which is not really sustainable at scale.John Julian supported this idea ·

@BenSmith
Thanks for clarifying this. We have a lot of people we want to get using Rush and supply them with mogrts we are using in our Production workflow. This would be a major plus for us if you could do this as we have a lot of mogrts we use across our organisation.
PS. You might want to tell you your marketing team to say that they only support PPro mogrt's as this is not clear from the messaging. -

Absolutely essential, I'm trying to create mogrt templates that allow users to swap out footage of software demos for new footage showing amends to UI, interaction etc. Anyone know of a plug-in that allows me to do this?

As Jim Simon noted, there is already a request for this so certainly upvote that request.
This is an area we are looking into for future versions to make auto-save more reliable and out of the way.

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:
- The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
- It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
- If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.Patrick
