Over a year since this thread started and this is STILL an issue. I'm on the latest version of Premiere and Windows 10. I have project from 2014 where I directly imported .MTS files shot on a Sony FS-100. Had no issue during the editing. The powers that be want me to bring back this 30 minute mini-doc and make changes. Now, any interview clip that spans an automatic file break (17 minutes) is out of sync. I have tried everything mentioned here and nothing works. Going to try encoding the original files in Handbrake to H.264 and if that does not work then just going to realign all the clips by hand... HOURS of work. SO. FRUSTRATED. Come on Adobe.
I love how people on the forums tell you to post here and people here tell you to post on the forums. Hahahahaha.

As we look at our current captions workflow, we will use this feedback to keep us informed

The caption panel / system continues to have numerous issues and strange behaviors- too many to really enumerate. I dread any project where I have to use it. It's 2019 and time to give this feature the serious attention it's never had. It's improved greatly from a few years ago but still needs a huge amount of development.

As Jim Simon noted, there is already a request for this so certainly upvote that request.
This is an area we are looking into for future versions to make auto-save more reliable and out of the way.

Hi Florian,
while this is a rather critical and large change to the way the application works and will take some time to be implemented, we’ll definitely put this under consideration.
There’s more than one solution to this problem, though.
A good short term opportunity is to use the parallel install feature in the creative cloud application. It should help to at least take away some of the issues working with people on a different version of the application.
Another thing worth keeping in mind is that you can install CC on two different machines (if you’re on an individual subscription). That gives you additional opportunity to keep different versions around for compatibility reasons.
I’ll update the status of this request as we move along.
If you have further thoughts on this matter, please keep them coming.
Thanks

I have had instance where muting all tracks except one within the nest does not produce a waveform at the master level- even after rendering audio. Example: A two camera interview (XDCAM 422) with two tracks of audio for each video clip. I align the clips, nest them and then go into the nest and mute three tracks leaving only one active. When I jump back to the nest the waveform does not show up consistently. I've had times where it does and times where it doesn't within the same project.
