I, too, would like an effect mask for master clips. I have a long green screen clip. It is my master clip. I would like to apply a garbage mask to it. For that I would like to go into the clip's opacity control, and using the pen tool I would like to apply a mask, which makes the "garbage" transparent. Right now I cannot do that.

Once the master clip is properly masked, I would apply a keyer to the "master-clip-minus-junk" to remove the green screen and make it transparent. Then I would like to sub-clip it and insert pieces of it into the timeline.

At present, I can do everything, but I cannot apply a junk matte to the master clip. Without the junk matte I cannot get a great key. Therefore please enable the use of effect masks on master clips.
