Solution: "Shift-click" any track number (V4 for example) will select or deselect all video or audio tracks inversely based on selection status of that track. Paste will "remember" the track it came from if you first deselect all tracks. So, copy your selected segments (command-c), "shift-click" any "selected" track (which will deselect all), then "command-v" to paste at time-position indicator. Very quick. Hope this helps.

Currently, there are four threads about this issue, not just this one. So it is affecting more people than this list suggests. The quickest workaround?... I have found that having the sequence open and visible in the timeline before you duplicate it yields a correct result every time (so far). If it's not open, a duplicated sequence will usually have missing data in all audio compressors. While I called it the "quickest" workaround, it certainly isn't quick, as I still take the time to check every compressor in every duplicated sequence, else I could ultimately loose a client, and my reputation. Adobe, please acknowledge on all four threads that you are hearing us.
@Mitch... Thank you, this worked perfectly. The fact is, I didn't need to make a preset at all... just needed a way to convert stereo files into two mono channels on import, and there it is in a simple, pull-down menu. I was surprised, however, to learn that the "import" settings for audio channel assignments live under the "timeline" tab. I had seen that menu before, but assumes it was for timeline assignments only. Nevertheless, you've saved me lots of future time. What else do you know???
