I'd also suggest that Ingest Presets created with Encoding Presets where Frame Size is 'Based on source' could and should be supported as Proxy creation ingest presets (effectively allowing a 100% frame size option, even if no other scaling options were supported) … at present, attempting to select an Ingest Preset that references a 'Match Source' encoding option for Proxy creation just gives an error.

    100% agree.

The lack of any Audio Channel Configuration 'Match Source' option when creating Encoding Presets is a major design flaw, especially with respect to creating Ingest Presets for Proxy creation in Premiere Pro.

Yep, built-in support for viewing standard text files in a 'Basic Text' panel would certainly be a useful addition. That said, there are already 3rd party extensions out there that allow to do this via one means or another … I use a simple Google Docs based panel.

To recreate proxies for all clips in a specific sequence only, just create a new empty bin in your project, drag the clips from the sequence into the empty bin, then make your proxies from that.

    Hi Florian,

while this is a rather critical and large change to the way the application works and will take some time to be implemented, we’ll definitely put this under consideration.

There’s more than one solution to this problem, though.

A good short term opportunity is to use the parallel install feature in the creative cloud application. It should help to at least take away some of the issues working with people on a different version of the application.

Another thing worth keeping in mind is that you can install CC on two different machines (if you’re on an individual subscription). That gives you additional opportunity to keep different versions around for compatibility reasons.

I’ll update the status of this request as we move along.

If you have further thoughts on this matter, please keep them coming.

    Thanks
    Patrick
