This is a great request that is certainly something we want to implement. Rest assured our engineers DO understand the importance of this feature and how to get the job done. We also know that the performance and stability of the app should be our #1 priority and that is where our focus is right now.

Would be happy to allow Nvidia or Adobe to remote into my PC to troubleshoot and see what we are experiencing! New Premiere update didn't fix my lag! As stated earlier here are my specs: Intel Core i9-7940x with 14 cores, 64GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, a separate internal SSD for cache, separate SSD for program files, and editing Panasonic EVA1 4K footage off of an internal 1TB SSD. Don't have Threadripper but having the same issue -

I'm running on Intel Core i9-7940x with 14 cores, 64GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, a separate internal SSD for cache, separate SSD for program files, and editing Panasonic EVA1 4K footage off of an internal 1TB SSD.

The program is being incredibly buggy- it will boot up fine and give me no problems for about ten minutes, then the lag will start. It starts as an annoyance but progresses to un-workable. I've tried everything in this forum :

    Premiere Pro CC 2017 lag

    I tried proxies...no dice.

This comes after a long string of events for us-we had a similar issue on an iMac a few weeks ago that brought us to the point of not being able to edit. We invested in a beast of a machine, tried rebuilding our projects from scratch, tried different drives at different speeds....nothing but issues! Please help!

As Wes noted, we are looking at many areas for optimization and have made strides in the last few releases already.

We recognize there are still many areas to improve performance and we are investing in appropriate areas.

Threads that are catch-alls are often non-actionable. Please keep giving us specific feedback on what workflows are slow for you.

Technical solutions may not always be as obvious as some people may be suggesting as the application architecture is often very different than people’s conception.

Short answer. Yes, we want to and will make it faster.

Reposting this in several threads with the hope of getting some 1 on 1 help- but YES!
