I'm noticing that the hard limiter is actually having no effect on my audio, and in fact, the levels are breaching the -3 i set on the track mixer. I've used this effect a million times in previous versions, this is is the first time i've used it in the latest version and it simply isn't working.

    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

I've just sent the attached tweet, feel free to find it and retweet if it helps get more attention.

While I'd love to see a response - I think I'd equally like to see an opportunity where we could all engage in a productive discussion about it with Patrick and his team.

It's not impossible. The tools exist. At the end of the day we're not just pros, or users - we're also subscribers (investors)... our opinions should have some weight.

Lastly, I know it's been said already - but just compounding that if your only contribution to this thread is vile hatred, or full of racist garbage - we don't want you in this community.

    Ryan

Hey Patrick, I appreciate the response - but like many users - I have not been able to find a positive response to this new UX design. I have auto updates disabled, but was alarmed when I turned on PP and found it had updated itself. I was having to relearn a program in the middle of 30 deliverables today. That upset me enough to bring me to the forum and social media.

As a pro, using premiere for 20 years, we want a compact design with all the relevant information at the ready for us to either confirm or adjust everything is set at the right values. Sometimes presets are great but sometimes not.

Everything is hidden now which could lead to parameters being missed and adds additional mouse clicks and distance.

The panel is huge, way too big. We don’t need to move our mouse over an area that large to adjust all these settings. And I never use the preview window to look at what I’m rendering. I just want the settings.

Trust. A lot of us have years of trust built with the settings and layout the way we know it. It seemed like overnight, that all came to a crashing end. I can’t confidently say all is good unless I open up every tab to see what is going on underneath the hood.

Now you mention using Media encoder. I did that - Infact I had a 28 file batch export which took way longer to export to media encoder than previous versions. It felt like it was trying to process more things before the file showed up in media encoder.

Lastly, while I applaud your effort to improve the experience for all, and have success for newbies - I can’t help but feel that those of us who’ve been using this program for two decades feel slighted. Not saying that was your intention - but it definitely came across that way - and while I can appreciate you and your team have received considerable heat over this issue - I would argue that there is enough evidence in this forum that maybe finding more common ground than staying the course would make a lot of us feel better about tomorrow.

    Thank you
