what codec could store alpha channel in .avi ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

What codec is inside your .avi that is alpha compatible and available on your mac ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Can anyone send me some file samples to check ?

    Thanks

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Ash Seck, could you send me a sample of .avi you have ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

AVI ok but what codec ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Besides "Blackmagic DV" what else codec do you need ? AVI is only a Microsoft container, it doesn't specify the video and audio codec you need

Okay, so equal amount of blank timeline between the end of n and beginning of n+1 ? I'm sure a script could do that easily

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

I don't get it, you can already select multiple clips and put them onto a timeline and they'll be side by side

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:

    - The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
    - It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
    - If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.

We just released BRAW Studio 1.7.4 with a new feature to help you quickly compare two sets of RAW Params (Custom A/B), check it out : https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/Changelog/

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Dave, just tested 1.5.1 in After Effects and the .braw is all black :/

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Hey all, we have a new BETA for BRAW Studio for After Effects CC 2017 / 2018 / 2019 Windows + Mac OSX, please contact us on our website to test it !

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

PW this is a BRAW Studio issue, not Blackmagic plugin

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

BRAW Studio for After Effects is on BETA for Windows (CC 2017 and CC 2019), contact us to participate ! http://autokroma.com/contact/

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Also, a recent update introduced a cool new feature in BRAW Studio : 10 global Presets ! You can now load and save source settings in global presets, check it out : https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/Changelog/

We've listed all the bugs from Blackmagic plugin here : https://autokroma.com/blog/BlackmagicRaw-Plugin-BRAW-Studio-Difference/

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

We're finishing a few things it should be out very soon

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    Hi,
The plugins are not compatible between them and it's a BMD plugin bug. You can't open old projects created with BRAW Studio.
It seems out of our hands, but we will study this nonetheless and keep you up to date

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    Hi John,
Yes you can ! Please read our article about it https://autokroma.com/blog/Introduction-to-BRAW-Studio/
You shouldn't use Presets but we already made copy paste possible.
Please tell us if it doesn't work

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

What's missing in BMD / BRAW Studio plugins ? Give us your opinion here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfjLYch8EKPFzI44hzX2upzZfHUmOQ6Ee6jefnRfay3xB8PLA/viewform

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

The performance are pretty good. Who here would have an interest in a full GPU solution ? What's the use of decoding 8K at 100 fps ?

Knowing it would only be for previews / timeline editing, not for exports

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    > According to the press release I read, it is still limited to CPU only.

I think it's hybrid CPU - GPU because of the limitations of Adobe SDK

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Thank you John. Blackmagic didn't precise it but their plugin is also working for Media Encoder

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Hi everyone, In order to improve our plugin BRAW Studio (Blackmagic RAW Importer for PPro and AME) we created this anonymous form, please fill it ! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfjLYch8EKPFzI44hzX2upzZfHUmOQ6Ee6jefnRfay3xB8PLA/viewform

Some users of BRAW Studio noticed some lags with latest 1.6.0. Please update to 1.6.1 ! https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/Changelog/

Also after seeing Ross troubles, we updated our F.A.Q. with manual uninstall just in case : https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/User_Guide/#How-do-I-uninstall-BRAW-Studio
But we double checked and our installer should work fine

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    Hi Ross,

You can uninstall BRAW Studio by going through the installer and ticking the Uninstall BRAW Studio checkbox. It will uninstall even if it's written 'install successful'

If it didn't work here's the process to do so manually :

Delete "Autokroma BRAW Studio" folder in :
    (Windows) C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\
    (Mac OSX) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/

Delete folders named "com.autokroma.brawStudioPanelHidden" and "com.autokroma.brawStudioPanelVisible" in this folder :
    (Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions
    (Mac OSX) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions

BRAW Studio shouldn't interact with PPro other than your crash issue and there is no need to reset preferences. The Adobe employee who helped you only followed a common procedure he repeats with all issues.

We'll test again the uninstall checkbox to see if there's any issue with it.

    Regards
    Antoine

It is not really open source : Blackmagic didn't give any source code for the encoder or the decoder

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Alex Coman our plugin is working great for PPro / AME Windows as of now https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/

Yes just made some progress on BRAW Studio for OSX this week :)

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

We just updated BRAW Studio to recent features from the latest version of DaVinci Resolve (ISO 3200, new color spaces, gamuts, highlight recovery, white level, black level..) !
    Check it out : https://Autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Jason Bechtel it might be a faster codec but it can't compare with BRAW because it's not recorded into Blackmagic cameras and you don't have the same color science (all the RAW import params)

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    Hello,
If you have grey frames it means you still have the trial enabled, you need to purchase BRAW Studio to import more than 500 frames
    Antoine

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for the comments on our plugin BRAW Studio https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/
We are working on the OSX port (so you'll be able to have a cross platform workflow) and we will also find a way to import the metadata you talked about directly into PPro (scene / take / shot)
    Cheers,
    Antoine

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

For the last comment please submit a bug report about this and we will fix this ! Grey frames are produced when you go over 500 frames in the trial

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Erik have you tried BRAW Studio ? https://Autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/

Reilly what do you mean by ETC ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Do you people need this for Windows or OSX mostly ?

    Antoine (Autokroma.com) commented  ·

Thing is, the user would need to be able to tweak RAW interpretation settings (color balance, exposure etc...) of the imported footage. It's not just an import issue, there's also some UI to integrate
