Better overall hardware utilisation. Look at this...
Core utilisation is at al all-time low. This is a 4.2 i7, 64gb Ram, 3xSSD's for OS/app, project, cache, OS Mojave...

Thanks Victoria, but I'm not really interested in using teams projects.
Can't you guys just hide the annoying, productivity killing autosave window? Your users have been asking for years...
Final cut pro had it figured out 15 years ago, with background autosaving with no halt to production.

There are plenty of ways to make this, this isn't the place for this question.

Fractal noise, animate evolution -> CC Radial fast blur - ->Additive or screen blend mode.

Hi folks! A quick update to let you know that three new Multi-Frame Rendering features went live in the After Effects public beta (18.4×37 and later) earlier this week:

    • Speculative Preview: When AE is idle (you’re checking your email, grabbing a coffee or even just browsing effects), it will render your timeline in the background so you’re ready to preview when you get back.
    • Multi-Frame Rendering in Adobe Media Encoder Beta: Enable MFR in the AE Beta and export in the background up to 3x faster.
    • Render notifications on desktop, iOS and Android: AE can let you know when it’s done no matter where you are via the Creative Cloud app. (Fun bonus: notifications will even work on your smartwatch!)

Here’s a link with more info on each feature:
    https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta/multi-frame-rendering-is-here-aka-the-multithreading-you-ve-been-asking-for/m-p/12131175#M925

Let us know how things are working for you on the beta forums. And stay tuned for more Multi-Frame Rendering…

    17.5.1 - rendering a 1080p PRores422 MOV.
    Using HALF my system.
Can we please utilise CPU better adobe?
I still feel like cc2014 was faster than cc2020.
I know there were some upgrades recently for performance, however using this all day everyday I haven't experienced much of an improvement. Rendering feels Slower than cc18, even.
Please please, support your professional users with some performance, help us be productive and efficient with your software. Make us feel empowered by your software, not anchored down by it.
We don't need new features every month, we want efficiency with what we have.
    Please.

@Ian. Thanks for your reply - respectfully though, I don't see how I berated anyone.
I asked a question, several times, and was given nothing but the run around...

Let's all remember, that Adobe, are the ones happily billing us good money each and every month ($75+ AUD/month for me), yet choose to ignore the core issues and are happy releasing bug-ridden updates time and time again. I mean, we aren't talking a one-off here...

This costs professional users income. Daily. We have families to provide for....

I'm no AE OG, but I have done my time @10yrs in.
And honestly, software that worked faster 5 years ago than it does today is just WOEFUL.

The subscription model is just a glorified cash grab. They have us over a barrel and they know it.
It really is, without a doubt, unacceptable.

Adobe should be aware of their users frustration. If they choose to continually ignore it, well, other options become increasingly viable.

I just downloaded a trial of hitfilmpro.
It, at least on paper looks good.

Now, my 10 yrs of AE hurts me to abandon, but if Adobe can't fathom that PRODUCTIVITY is important to users who LOSE MONEY waiting for their products to under-utilise their hardware they PAID GOOD MONEY FOR... Well.....
The writing is on the wall isn't it.

    -Rajneesh
May I know what exact issue you are facing in After effects?

    -Matt
I just told you my question.
I sent you the link it refers to. Should I take a plane to you and just do your job for you?

    -Rajneesh
As I can see that you are facing issue with After effect application.

    -Matt
I am facing an issue where by your developers removed a feature from After Effects and I want to know when it is coming back
    It's not a complicated question???
    AE CC14 = Multithreading. AE CC15-19 = No Multithreading.
AE CC14 = FAST render. AE CC15-19 = NON FAST render.
If you read through that thread, pro users are getting ready to move platforms....

    -Rajneesh
Matt I am sorry for this and I would like to Inform you that Adobe has discontinued the older version.

    -Matt
THAT"S WHY I AM ASKING WHEN MULTITHREADING IS BEING ADDED
I am really struggling to understand why you don't understand

    -Rajneesh
I need to check this with my Senior and Engineer team.
As I am from technical team.

    -Matt
Well, I did mention to the last guy it wasn't a technical issue
    And yet here we are...

    -Rajneesh
I know that it is not the technical issue but I need to check this with my senior team.

    -Matt
    Thanks

    -Rajneesh
    Your welcome Matt.

**Looks like you have stepped away, I will close this conversation for now. You are welcome to comeback and we will be glad to assist you.

ADOBE - this is absolutely ridiculous. FIX IT

Maybe it's time we organised some kind of global pay strike. We could all stop adobe payments from going through, maybe then they will listen to their core users that rely on PRODUCTIVITY over stupid little BELLS AND WHISTLES???
I'm sick and tired of paying $75 AUD, plus foreign transaction fees every single month, and have literally nothing to be excited about when I see an update come up. I'm petrified of even trying CC19 - ADOBE that's just f****** terrible. And I'm not the only one!
Fix your s*** Adobe! We're paying you.

I have a current highest spec iMac (not imac pro) and AE renders barely touch the CPU. So much performance wasted, I can't figure out why this would ever be a thing. When I'm rending, smash my poor CPU into submission and use 100% of it - that's WHY I BOUGHT IT

17.5.0 is using an incredible amount of ram doing relatively simple 1/4res previews on my system.

It would be cool to use one matte for multiple layers, I'm not fussed whether they have to stay above as I find that easy to locate them.

Thank you for filing this bug report. We are investigating a fix for this problem for a future update to After Effects.

The conditions under which this problem occurs had eluded us for a long time. Only recently were we able to observe the combination of factors that are required to cause this problem:
    - This happens on macOS only, not on Windows.
    - The After Effects UI is spread over multiple monitors.
    - The Render Queue panel is in a floating window outside of the main After Effects application window.
    - That floating window is on a different monitor than the main application window.
    - The Render Queue panel is docked in this floating window with either the Timeline or Composition panels.
    - When you start the render queue, a modal dialog (a progress dialog or a warning dialog) appears over the main application window.

    When all of the…

Yes, my system setup is similar to the above.
I think multi-monitor support is absolutely not-negotiable in this industry and I feel like it should be a priority for Adobe. External monitor previews also have issues when using multi monitors on Mac OS.

I've not come across any motion designers happy to work in one window, things are just too small and cramped. I would literally throw my system out the window in a fiery mess if I had to live daily through that frustration, and probably jump right along with it!

My AE timeline is nearly on it's own on a 27" monitor - and I use that space daily.
My second 27" monitor holds my main app window, tools, project window and composition windows. Pretty standard.

I will try docking my que in the main window - however with the timeline panel ultimately makes more logical sense. It will be hard to break a 10 year habit of having the que with the timeline!

What additional features would you like to see in a bug reporting tool?

The UserVoice platform is a new tool (as of 2018) that Adobe DVA product teams are using to track user feedback, and allow public voting and commenting on suggestions. Prior to this, reports were not visible to the public, so no voting or discussion could occur on a given report.

Submissions to this site are reviewed by the Adobe DVA product teams. Not every submission will receive a response, but we are reading the submission and using the feedback in our planning process for future updates to After Effects, Premiere Pro, and our sibling applications. We’ve closed many submissions to this site as completed after a new update has been released, when the submission was addressed by the update. Other submissions are closed as not actionable, or declined, if the request does not align with our development…
