Thanks Victoria, but I'm not really interested in using teams projects.
Can't you guys just hide the annoying, productivity killing autosave window? Your users have been asking for years...
Final cut pro had it figured out 15 years ago, with background autosaving with no halt to production.Matt Dean shared this idea ·

There are plenty of ways to make this, this isn't the place for this question.
Fractal noise, animate evolution -> CC Radial fast blur - ->Additive or screen blend mode.

Agreed. But I'd be happy if it even utilised my CPU properly.

17.5.0 is using an incredible amount of ram doing relatively simple 1/4res previews on my system.
Pretty bad. -

AdminVictoria Nece (Sr. Product Manager, Motion Graphics and VFX, Adobe DVA) responded
Hello everybody!
(This post was co-authored by Tim Kurkoski (After Effects Product Owner), Andrew Cheyne (After Effects Engineering Manager), and Victoria Nece (After Effects Product Manager).)
This thread has been sitting here for quite a while without a response. To start, we want to apologize for that. We haven’t been ignoring you or your feedback – this is just a particularly complex topic. That said, it’s time for us to check in with you, clarify a few things, and give you an idea of what we’re looking at for the future of After Effects, especially when it comes to performance.
To start, we fully understand that you want After Effects to be as fast as it can be – utilizing your computer’s hardware resources to render as fast as possible. Over the last several years, we have been working on the performance of After Effects constantly. Sometimes those performance gains…

Has anybody used this plugin here? It looks similar in process to Render Garden but quicker and easier to use?

@Ian. Thanks for your reply - respectfully though, I don't see how I berated anyone.
I asked a question, several times, and was given nothing but the run around...Let's all remember, that Adobe, are the ones happily billing us good money each and every month ($75+ AUD/month for me), yet choose to ignore the core issues and are happy releasing bug-ridden updates time and time again. I mean, we aren't talking a one-off here...
This costs professional users income. Daily. We have families to provide for....
I'm no AE OG, but I have done my time @10yrs in.
And honestly, software that worked faster 5 years ago than it does today is just WOEFUL.The subscription model is just a glorified cash grab. They have us over a barrel and they know it.
It really is, without a doubt, unacceptable.Adobe should be aware of their users frustration. If they choose to continually ignore it, well, other options become increasingly viable.
I just downloaded a trial of hitfilmpro.
It, at least on paper looks good. Now, my 10 yrs of AE hurts me to abandon, but if Adobe can't fathom that PRODUCTIVITY is important to users who LOSE MONEY waiting for their products to under-utilise their hardware they PAID GOOD MONEY FOR... Well.....
The writing is on the wall isn't it.An error occurred while saving the comment Matt Dean commented

I am facing an issue where by your developers removed a feature from After Effects and I want to know when it is coming back
It's not a complicated question???
AE CC14 = Multithreading. AE CC15-19 = No Multithreading.
AE CC14 = FAST render. AE CC15-19 = NON FAST render.

ADOBE - this is absolutely ridiculous. FIX IT

Maybe it's time we organised some kind of global pay strike. We could all stop adobe payments from going through, maybe then they will listen to their core users that rely on PRODUCTIVITY over stupid little BELLS AND WHISTLES???
I'm sick and tired of paying $75 AUD, plus foreign transaction fees every single month, and have literally nothing to be excited about when I see an update come up. I'm petrified of even trying CC19 - ADOBE that's just f****** terrible. And I'm not the only one!
Fix your s*** Adobe! We're paying you.An error occurred while saving the comment Matt Dean commented
I have a current highest spec iMac (not imac pro) and AE renders barely touch the CPU. So much performance wasted, I can't figure out why this would ever be a thing. When I'm rending, smash my poor CPU into submission and use 100% of it - that's WHY I BOUGHT IT

It would be cool to use one matte for multiple layers, I'm not fussed whether they have to stay above as I find that easy to locate them.

Thank you for filing this bug report. We are investigating a fix for this problem for a future update to After Effects.
The conditions under which this problem occurs had eluded us for a long time. Only recently were we able to observe the combination of factors that are required to cause this problem:
- This happens on macOS only, not on Windows.
- The After Effects UI is spread over multiple monitors.
- The Render Queue panel is in a floating window outside of the main After Effects application window.
- That floating window is on a different monitor than the main application window.
- The Render Queue panel is docked in this floating window with either the Timeline or Composition panels.
- When you start the render queue, a modal dialog (a progress dialog or a warning dialog) appears over the main application window. When all of the…

Thank you for the reply, it is appreciated.
Yes, my system setup is similar to the above.
I think multi-monitor support is absolutely not-negotiable in this industry and I feel like it should be a priority for Adobe. External monitor previews also have issues when using multi monitors on Mac OS.I've not come across any motion designers happy to work in one window, things are just too small and cramped. I would literally throw my system out the window in a fiery mess if I had to live daily through that frustration, and probably jump right along with it!
My AE timeline is nearly on it's own on a 27" monitor - and I use that space daily.
My second 27" monitor holds my main app window, tools, project window and composition windows. Pretty standard.I will try docking my que in the main window - however with the timeline panel ultimately makes more logical sense. It will be hard to break a 10 year habit of having the que with the timeline!

Better overall hardware utilisation. Look at this...
Core utilisation is at al all-time low. This is a 4.2 i7, 64gb Ram, 3xSSD's for OS/app, project, cache, OS Mojave...
