    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

Jeff - a fantastic point! It reminds me of the usability of consumer electronics - using the product the accompanying manual. Absolutely alien language! Absolutely ZERO thought on usability and functionality with day to day use. All this stuff is from the engineering point of view and that is exactly the problem with Premiere.

The last few updates have been absolutely terrible. I want Adobe to admit it and give us something we need for our work.

So not only can I not batch export to Media Encoder (I think this is a problem with M1 machines, should be fixed in the next version).....I tried using the upload to Vimeo within Premiere. The upload box came up but didn't upload - I checked din the Activity Monitor. I cancelled the process in Premiere and after a bit it crashed.

Happened again as well so that doesn't work properly either.

    Cheers

I'm on 22.5 and its nice to suggest use Media Encoder, but now when I queue in Media Encoder it doesn't start encoding at all!! Mac OS 12.4. M1 MacBook.

Exporting from Premiere is literally the worst experience I have ever had using this software.

I totally agree. There are a few features that has improved the workflow. Such as subtitling improvements, automatic transcription, some audio features, morph cut, Frame IO, remix tool.....BUT... nothing to improve the EDITING workflow. The project manager is a dinosaur and no use whatsoever. You cannot render and replace nested sequencing, the autosave is still from the 90s, you cannot batch change sequence settings, no folder watch I had to buy a PlugIn...the list goes on and on.

These features have not been improved for so long - the Project Manger was a subject way back in 2018! But the changes to the export workflow is joke to be honest.

How about making the export screen fully customisable. You can choose defaults for each settings, what settings displayed and the option to move the elements around. Then every user can have the perfect export settings window!

I worked at a large corporate the other day and met 5-6 other editors. A conversation about the new exporting was brought up. Not one of us think this is better or improves our workflow at all. The worst car crash in the turbulent history of Premiere! So many good ideas put forward by users in here and no one of them has ever got implemented for years. But this has been implemented. It just makes no sense whatsoever.

Completely agree James. There are so many power features that have been under review for years. Personal annoyance, improving the project manager has been under review since 2018.

The colour correcting workflow should be greatly improved by now. It’s cumbersome on long edits.

Small things like batch change sequences, viewing the audio waveform under video in the source monitor.

There always stability issues with dynamic links, exporting to media encoder, plug in integration, encoding etc

I haven’t spent ten years learning about editing and visual effects to have a programme hiding critical settings and trying to take away my skills in video.

    Im just so disappointed.

I consolidated my project with the Rosetta version of Premiere and now thought things might be better. So I trying to open this project in Premiere 22.2 and now ALL my consolidated footage (using Cineform CODEC) do not import. It says CFHD is unsupported compression type?! How can this be?

Thanks for all the feedback. It’s pretty clear that we’ve got to look into the workflow using this format more closely, there are enough reports about gaps at this point to reopen this item. I’ll post more info about next steps shortly. In the meantime, a couple of questions are easy to answer:

    - The plugin is designed for Premiere Pro. It currently doesn’t provide support for After Effects.
    - It does work with AME, so if you want to use it for batch processing, that’s very doable
    - If you’ve started a project with Autokroma, there’s no easy way to transfer it to be running with the new plugin.

Unbelievable Adobe replied to this thread in 2018 and NOTHING has changed!

I totally agree with Mary. It’s not about just using third party plug ins which always have bugs and don’t work seamlessly with the software.

This needs to be fixed in Premiere. This includes consolidating after effect sequences, nested sequences and effects used. Which is compatible with different versions of both Premiere and After Effects.

I want to be able to finish a job, put in a library and come back to it years after with minimal of issues.

Onto release 22 and still nothing has change on this useless project management. Any chance of an update? Might have to move to FCP. The only thing keeping me with Premiere is After Effects!

Thank you Igor! Premiere's most ignored feature. In 2020 I renamed it the 'no project management' feature.

So Adobe replied over a year ago and nothing has changed!

The Project Manager needs a complete overhaul.

The navigation is awful, slow and confusing for large scale projects.

You cannot include nested sequences when selecting one timeline.

You cannot choose to render nested sequences like you can with After Effects.

The ability to render all effects (audio and video) before consolidating.

Hope we can see major improvements in the future.

The worst! I can get 200 trailers at once and I have to change each sequence to match the FPS. I can't just create sequences as a batch either.

Management of projects and user experience is the weakest part of Premiere IMO - using bins, sequence settings, nested sequences (Render replace etc), effects (rendering them while still editing) and most of all the consolidate project feature - which hasn't been improved for decades.
