    Hello, Premiere Pro does support .srt files. I have added .vtt to the support enhancement list and there is a way to convert .sbv to .srt when you export from YouTube.

    To get the behavior you describe, Phil, select the clips around the gap or gaps you want. Then run the command. Only selected gaps are closed.

    This feature exists in Premiere Pro, it is under Sequence > Close Gap. It doesn't have a default keyboard shortcut, you will need to create your own.
