    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

We hear your frustrations about color management and we are working on multiple improvements.

I recently posted a note on Alister Chapman's excellent xdcam-user.com forum, in response to a post he'd made about color management in Premiere Pro.

While my response doesn't go into details on our long term plans, it describes what we're doing in the short term to make handling of log footage easier.

    Here's what I wrote:

    Hi all,

I’m a product manager at Adobe, on the video team. I thought I’d chime in to provide some info on what we’re doing.

Color management is not going away – quite the opposite. As HDR-capable cameras and displays are becoming the default, and shooting in log or raw is becoming the norm, color management is critical. Gone are the days of only Rec709, the one color space to rule them all.

You might have seen reports about HDR…

    To the Premiere Pro team:
The audio file that don´t work are a two channel file with the channels out of phase. I inverted one channel in Audition to make the channels in phase and now DeNoiser works.

This is not a bug and can be closed, the audio file is are out of phase and thus causing this.

I can reproduce this as well if i add DeNoiser directly to the clip in the timeline. Adding DeNoiser in the Audio Track Mixer works better but has issues as well on the file directly from the Zoom H5 recorder.

I did a test and placed the file made from Zoom H5 on an empty timeline and added just a Color Matte to match the length. I rendered out the timeline to a new CineForm file and imported that file and placed it on a new timeline. If i apply DeNoiser to that clip on the timeline DeNoiser still won´t work.

Re-saving the file to different audio formats don´t change anything, DeNoiser still fails to do anything with the clip. Can it be something in the meta data of the original file that is carried over in the examples abowe that throws off DeNoiser?

One of the most freakiest bug i have seen.

Jeff, click on the small "hamburger menu" to the right of the name of the Timeline and choose Audio Time Units. Now you can zoom beyond frame level. (See the attached image)

Now you will be able to zoom in down to the sample rate of your audio. If it is set to 48000 Hz you will have to press the left/right arrow key 48000 times to advance one (1) video frame. This will give the precise keyframe adjustment you need.

Using one monitor only and having issues with workspaces as well. Sometimes changes i have done are not remebered, such as Icon View or List View, Preview Area or not. Though i have saved the workspace resetting it won´t work and i must manually do all changes once again. It seems that the file management for the workspaces are the issue. If i save a workspace i expect one (1) file in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\14.0\Profile-Name\Layouts so i can just lock that file and make it read only. That corrupted everything.

Please fix this and make it solid. This is one of the basic features that just shall work, all the time, forever. Having issues for years is pathetic.

Currently, Premiere uses the Lanczos method for intrinsic scale and rotation. Lanczos is an exceptionally high-quality interpolation method which generally yields better results than bicubic, bilinear or nearest neighbor. From reading the forum post, it seems that up-scaling is the real issue here. I suggest looking at the Detail-Preserving Upscale effect in After Effects. It does a really good job and gives you some parameters to tweak to fit your specific content.
