I really wanted the Libraries method to work. But in my experience it does not update promptly (or ever in some case).

Its now possible to add videos to the Mogrt from within PR so that any of your effects and blend modes will be applied to the video you feed the Mogrt.
This feature is now in public beta in AE and Premiere Pro.
Here’s more info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akp8aXF-iwM&feature=youtu.be

Right click the track. Rename.
It doesn't work unless the tracks are tall enough to show the name (alt scroll over the track or press shift = to maximize height)

I suspect they'll do nothing. They want you to use the newest version. They're also having licensing disagreements with Dolby which is why they've been removing old versions and now warning us to stop using them.
The original promise to keep old versions available forever was nice but I never believed it. Now it's confirmed.

Only the old title tool does this. Use the type tool and it all happens right in the program monitor. (Press T or click the "T" icon in the toolbar).

When you add an EG template to your project, it's copied into the "Motion Graphics Template Media" folder next to your project file. Inside that folder are .aegraphic files. Those are the graphic files your project is reading. So as long as you maintain those files, your graphics will still exist even if you move to a different system.
Whether everything will still work properly years from now is a separate question that's harder to answer. Updates sometimes change or break things and we're already seeing them make old versions unavailable to re-download.

Using this for scripts/notes comes to mind immediately. Not sure how doable it is technically but I like it.
