Huh. I just posted an idea exactly like this...then saw you'd already suggested it! I agree, now that 4K and higher resolution screens are commonplace, the Poster Frame/Thumbnail in the Project Panel is often really small. It'd be nice to be able to right-click it (or use a new option in the little Project menu, underneath Thumbnail Transparency Grid maybe) and set it to a larger size.

    Hi Franco,

Sounds like you're really steamed about our update! I'm sorry you don't like it. Could you give me a little more information on what you don't like? Software is never done and we already have a variety of tweaks in the pipeline for the latest update. Perhaps your suggestion is already on our list or perhaps you'll give us a new idea.

    I'd appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks,

    Fergus Hammond

    Product Manager, Premiere Pro.

I have been moaning about this god-awful export atrocity for months (in the Beta version) to no avail. It is a major step backwards in EVERY way (more mouse clicks to achieve the same thing) and offers absolutely NO advantages over the previous, FAR superior workflow. It would be heroic of Adobe to admit this is a terrible mistake, and go back to the wonderful, simple, quick, efficient export system we all loved and had NO problems with. Why "fix" something that's not broken?!

    Hi Paul,

We have made the change you suggested. You can try it out in the beta version of v23.4 (there's no problem with having both the beta and shipping versions of our products installed at the same time) or you can wait until next month when it will be included in the next release.

Thanks very much for the suggestion!

    Regards,

    Fergus

THANK YOU! This will save me a lot of unnecessary clicks in my workflow! It's so nice when a suggestion comes to fruition. If only the intractable Illustrator team would listen to its customers like the AE/PPro/AME team does, then we could drag that godforsaken app kicking and screaming into the 21st Century!

I'd also like a snapshot feature in PPro EXACTLY like AE's one (shift-F5 to F8 takes a snapshot, then pressing F5 to F8 shows that snapshot). It's perfect for comparing shots, especially when doing stuff like colour grading.

Or am I mistaken, and PPro already has something like this? I know I can click the camera icon and export a still frame, but that's not what I'm talking about.

Maybe there's a limitation on the internal video buffer size or something...but when I have 128GB RAM and 24GB VRAM, I'd have thought this limitation should be increased. OR - be able to zoom in above 200% if you've viewing the comp with Region of interest turned on (currently it makes no difference - it's limited to 200% on an 8K comp).

This is not a bug, it’s as designed. We specifically limit the visibility to one track at a time to avoid accidentally burning in multiple tracks. Also, when exporting to a format that only supports one captions stream like SRT or STL, we need to know which is the active track in order to export the correct track.

But I understand why you might need two tracks visible at the same time.

    Multiple speakers:
If we could automatically identify speakers and designate a style associated with them, would that help? For example speaker 1 is blue and on the left, speaker 2 is yellow and on the right?

    Multiple languages:
Do you ever need to burn in both at the same time or is it just a matter of being able to see both to aid in translation and alignment?

Thanks for the feedback, we really are listening :)

For starters, Adobe should at least add a "speed" preference so we can set how quickly the scroll wheel pans across the timeline, so we can adjust it from its current, fixed setting of "painfully slow" to something less miserable.
