I've moved my vote over from https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/33894193-hiding-showing-layers-and-tracks#comments , which is redundant, and poorly titled.
This is ID #110 in my problems spreadsheet.

@Mitch
in a 3840x2160 sequence, place some 1920x1080 footage. Set to frame size. This will result in the 1-pixel perimeter. It will NOT happen if you have a 1080p timeline, and use set to frame size on 4K footage.
I think this error only occurs when scaling upwards, not downwards.

Not only that, but I have a script that enables the functionality that you crave:
https://github.com/TaranVH/2nd-keyboard/blob/master/Taran's%20Premiere%20Mods/PREMIERE%20MOD%20-%20Right%20click%20timeline%20to%20move%20playhead%20MOD.ahk
It uses right-click, (unless you are above a clip) but you can change it to use middle click, or anything else. (which also makes the script a lot simpler.) -

you can also assign it to a shortcut. I use CTRL P

Premiere is trying to be helpful by auto-linking files for you. I believe it searches down by one folder level if it has trouble finding a match. (Obviously it should be better at finding the matches, but until then, there is a workaround.)
My workaround is to go down by two folder levels.
So, instead of changing
Volumes/RAID 4/Wags/orig footage
into
Volumes/RAID 4/Wags/footage
use something like this:
Volumes/RAID 4/Wags2/footageOr, since that would mess up your one-folder-per-project organization... in the future, start with
Volumes/RAID 4/Wags/original/footage
and later change to
Volumes/RAID 4/Wags/fixed/footage
I belieeeeeve that should work.... -

It is worth noting that "set to frame size" has a bug where one pixel will show around the perimeter. That would need to be fixed for this suggestion to be worthwhile. https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/34818967-set-to-frame-size-is-inaccurate

Maybe not the answer you hoped for, but filmimpact.net has this.

You can search for effects in a sequence? how?

Moving this to Under Review. Thanks again for all the feedback.

I must agree that saving every single change, every single time, is excessive. Everyone would start complaining that Premiere seems laggier. That's a no-win situation!
An autosave that does not have the intrusive pop-up window, would be nice.
It is worth noting that even though I have mine set to every 4 minutes, sometimes that interval is ignored/missed, which can result in, say, 15 minutes of work being lost.

Go to the Keyboard shortcuts panel, search for "Set Poster frame."
When scrubbing through a clip in a bin, you can hit that button, to set the thumbnail for that clip.
Is this what you were talking about? -

There's also a keyboard shortcut for it. I assigned it to CTRL P.

As others have stated, your problem will be fixed by going to Preferences > Timeline > Timeline Playback Auto-Scrolling > and choosing "No scroll" or "Page scroll."
As for this comment:
"If the timeline is zoomed in all the way, and the project is more than a minute, it becomes very difficult to move a very small amount."
Are you not aware that the mouse scroll wheel can be used to move horizontally through the timeline? This is far preferable to clicking and dragging on a tiny scroll bar. (Granted, it is kind of slow, but if you need it, I do have a script that will send more scroll wheel events.) -

I never have this problem, because I have all my most commonly used effects and presets bound to physical buttons, which applies them instantly to whatever clips I have selected.
The code is free, so you can also do this, but it requires some knowledge of scripting and AHK. https://github.com/TaranVH/2nd-keyboard/blob/664d299023cc2a6d4e213aba5f93b03ef2edf4dd/All%20Premiere%20Functions.ahk#L213
Instead of messing with all that, it'd be better for everyone to just have the feature in Premiere. Vote for this:

As mentioned on twitter, it's entirely possible that this is bug #402 in my spreadsheet, NOT #181. the two are quite similar, though, and may be connected.
https://twitter.com/TaranVH/status/1020786891690405889Also, (this is a completely separate issue) I DID finally figure out how to disable ALT menu acceleration in not only Premiere, but all Windows applications. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRld4bVFrpU

@anonymous That is not exactly an issue with Premiere... those are called menu accelerators -- every program has them. I've been searching for a way to get rid of them, to no avail.
However, Premiere could just disallow you from using those shortcuts in the first place. search for item 170 on my spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dVJb7kI_ZETLavrplfARgn9gL8HUpvkq6A0jCPxqA3w/edit#gid=1133868629

There is also a forum thread on this issue:
https://forums.adobe.com/message/9770275#9770275This is ID # 181 in my spreadsheet.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dVJb7kI_ZETLavrplfARgn9gL8HUpvkq6A0jCPxqA3w/edit#gid=1133868629I also reported this issue with an unlisted video. 9 months later, they still have not watched it. Proof:
https://i.imgur.com/kVec10Z.pngLater, I released a public version of the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Swd8Yv55YAAAAAnd finally, I discovered that a good workaround is to switch away from Premiere, and back. So I have a macro key that does that for me:
https://github.com/TaranVH/2nd-keyboard/blob/57d878fcb1dc4f6c03ed97fd8b4d9da61687dbba/Almost%20All%20Windows%20Functions.ahk#L610
This is activated by a single keypress on my K95 RGB keyboard. You could assign it to F1 if you don't have macros. (and change notepad++.exe to notepad.exe or anything else.) -

This has a poor title, and is redundant with https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/34393888-implement-dragging-across-layer-icons-to-enable-di
