once you get past the [custom] thingy, you can scroll with the scroll wheel, can you not?

While we are not considering removing this long-requested feature, we hear you on the room for improvement.
Thank you for your feedback

I think there are some technical difficulties involved with this one... but yes... having proxies at the wrong scale has caused me many problems, and resulted in me hardly using the feature.
While it may be difficult to create proxies in any given resolution, it should not be too difficult for those proxies to automatically stretch themselves into the correct aspect ratio.

there is a redundant request here: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/35708812-fix-the-track-matte-effect-with-a-motion-settings which perhaps should be merged.

"Now?" You mean, it didn't used to work this way? Did they change it without also keeping an option for the old functionality?
Yeah, this is definitely important. It's a real pain to do a simple split-screen effect. You have to use a nested sequence.

Ah, I see. This can happen when clips are directly next to each other on the same layer, and "selection follows playhead" is on. It does NOT even require that you use the DOWN key to go to the next edit point. It will happen even if you are just moving the playhead within the Effect Controls panel
Yes, that is annoying. I've never encountered it, probably because I barely use "selection follows playhead" feature. One issue with the way that Premiere handles the Effect Controls panel, is that it allows you to place a keyframe one frame BEYOND the actual end of the clip (this is when "pin to clip" is on.) This, to me, seems like a really bad idea, or just an oversight.
I believe that fixing it should solve this, and several other issues.

Ah, you mean in list mode, not icon mode.
Did you know that you can assign keyboard shortcuts to the label colors? They will work in bins and on the timeline. I've put mine on the numpad.

I've had this as a feature request for awhile...
Here's a video I made:
https://youtu.be/ThX0DqdQlJ4?t=109aaaand I also coded a mod to do this, using AutoHotKey. If anyone really wants, they can use that code. Kind of a pain to set up, though, especially if you've never scripted anything before: https://github.com/TaranVH/2nd-keyboard/blob/664d299023cc2a6d4e213aba5f93b03ef2edf4dd/All%20Premiere%20Functions.ahk#L213
However, my AHK script only works with the dissolve transition, and 3rd party transitions, because ONLY those can be saved as presets. That's right! It can actually be done from the Effect Controls panel:
https://i.imgur.com/uyeNSHU.pngFinally, it is possible to apply transitions with one button press... using the Palette Gear.
https://i.imgur.com/MNBgkpO.pngBut even those are not "preset" transitions.
A good workaround is to have transitions saved to a sequence in my template premiere project file. That way, they're always available for copy/pasting.
Okay, technically you CAN actually save transitions as clipboard states, but it's unstable, hard to set up, and has been slower in recent versions of Premiere: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ScBB7I1BEA
But yeah... all of that should not be necessary. It should indeed be easy to create preset transitions, and to apply them using custom keyboard shortcuts.

Alan is right. I also have a shortcut for this and it's great.
On the flip side, imagine the frustration of a newer user who doesn't know that their workspace has become locked, and now they can't move things around as they could before. They'd believe it to be a bug. They might not even know what to search for to solve the problem. Perhaps "premiere panels are frozen, help!!"
It seems to me that if you are moving your panels around accidentally, perhaps you are attempting to work faster than you are able. I always focus on accuracy first, and then speed... never the other way around. Are you not quite looking at where your cursor is going? Is your mouse sensitivity set really high? I don't mean to sound patronizing... it's just that I've only seen this problem in editors who are trying to work faster than they are able... which ultimately slows them down.

This has to do with the loss of the rights to a Dolby codec. You can read more about it here:

It does indeed make sense, the way that it works right now.
But, for those users who really want it, there surely could be an additional shortcut for "Set out point one frame prior" or something.
The user could set this to O, or to zero, or whatever. Now everybody's happy.(Except for anyone who uses someone else's workstation without realizing that they might have it set up this way. But a professional is gonna want to bring their own shortcuts anyway.)
And yes, it can be done with AHK - though I recommend that nearly all shortcuts that will be triggered with AHK should include the CTRL modifier. Fortunately, you can assign multiple shortcuts per command, so that is easy to set up.

I call this a "redraw error," since the action has occurred, but you the screen does no display the results.
Here is my simple test: Drag a selection rectangle on the timeline. Release your mouse button. If the rectangle stay there, rather than vanishing, you have the redraw bug.
FIX:
Change or reset your workspace.
This is why I have 6 nearly identical copies of the same workspace available at all times.https://forums.adobe.com/message/10345271

Instead of an adjustment layer, have you tried using a transparent video? I think it would be perfect in your situation.

This doesn't help you right now, but it's an industry standard to never upgrade your NLE in the middle of a project. Now you know why.
Worst case scenario, you might be able to export to XML, and import that into an older version of Premiere.

@Felice It's not stupid. It allows for motion within motion. Essential for making certain kinds of animation easy to do.
But the transform effect has historically been really buggy.
