    Hi Mike,

    You have 2 options.
    1. You can install the Mogrts in the Essential Graphics Panel and use the Rename option when you right-click on the thumbnail in the browse view. (see attached screenshot)

    2. You can open the .Mogrt natively in AE by using the File > Open command (that the only way to do it). This will prompt a dialog that will ask you where you want to "extract" the Mogrt files. From here... you can rename and re-export the Main Comps and they will have the name you want.

Hope this gets you where you wanna go!

    Oh! Out of curiosity...
Are you attempting to rename the Mogrts from the new Creative Cloud Desktop App or the Browser?

I think it would be worth filing a feature request if so :)

    Hi Paula,

In order to support localization of Mogrts for different places in the world, we had to create a Display Name (what you see in the app) that was separate than the file name itself so that folks who open the Mogrt in Japanese can see the Japanese name displayed and folks who open the Mogrt in Spanish can see the Spanish name.

Unfortunately, solving that issue for many definitely causes some pain points for users who don't have to worry about serving international teams.

But! There IS another way to rename your Mogrts without having to re-export them every time.
    If you:
    1. Navigate to the Essential Graphics Panel within Premiere itself
    2. Click on the checkbox that says 'Local Templates Folder" and
    3. Right-click on a thumbnail...
Then you will see an option to Rename the Display Name of the Mogrt.

The caveate here is that the Mogrt has to be saved locally.

If you have Mogrts in your Library that need to be renamed, then:
    1. Filter the EGP view by Libraries
    2. Multi-Select the Mogrts you need to rename
    3. Right-Click on them and choose "Copy to Local" from the menu.

After you complete the renaming process you can copy them back to your library. Its a bit of a back-and-forth for sure, but I think it will definitely save more time than having to re-open all of the individual After Effects projects and re-exporting them with the new name.

    Hope this is helpful,
    Dacia

    Hi Shannon!

Me again... I did some asking around and it turns out that this is intentional! The design and idea behind the Logo.png is a placeholder for you to swap out and replace with your own logo. Its kind of like those photos when you first buy a new picture frame. Who are those people anyway?

There IS an editable text layer in the graphic though that you can customize by selecting the graphic layer in the timeline to pull up the editing menu or double-clicking on the text in the Program Monitor :)

Hope this helps clear things up a bit.

    Hi Shannon,

Oh geez! Its not you... its us! 🤣

Looks like someone forgot to take that text out of the .png image layer that makes up the blue circles. Those words are burned into the image itself and so it is in fact not editable. This slipped through the radar. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention so we can fix it.

While I can't fix this one for you immediately, there are a ton of free Mogrts on Stock that might be good alternatives and you don't even have to leave the app. Just click on the Stock tab in the Essential Graphics Panel and you can search for a new style of *editable* mogrts.

Or follow this link if you would rather peruse the selection through your web browser https://stock.adobe.com/search/templates?filters%5Bcontent_type%3Atemplate%5D=1&filters%5Btemplate_type_id%5D%5B%5D=6&order=relevance&safe_search=1&k=logo&search_page=1&search_type=autosuggest&acp=1&aco=lo&get_facets=1

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

One more thought, Holly. Is it possible that the Mogrt you are using was not exported with Responsive Time? The fact that it won't stretch and that "Reset Duration" is not enabled points to it being a non-responsive time Mogrt.

When you put the Mogrt on the timeline does the track item have little white triangles in the corners like in this photo?

If so then it is not a Responsive Mogrt and will need to be re-exported from AE after Protected Regions are added to it.

    Thanks,
    Dacia

    Hi Manish,

While we no longer support the folder view of the first version of the Essential Graphics Panel, we do offer a couple of ways to organize your Mogrts.

    - You can add keywords to your Mogrts and then filter the EGP based on those keywords.
    - Some users sort and filter their Mogrts via Creative Cloud Libraries.
But, one of the lesser known methods, "Manage Additional Folders" can be accessed via the EGP's hamburger menu as shown in the screenshot.

This allows you to create a folder structure on disk, external hard drive, or networked drive to sort your Mogrts by project or theme-- whatever suits your needs. You can add Mogrts directly to these folders and then use the Additional Folders dropdown view to filter specific collections in the EGP once those folders are mapped.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Christopher,

Sooo... a little bit of context for why this happens... Keyframed properties that get added to the Essential Graphics Panel as a control, lose their animation on export to Mogrt land because the control can only represent 1 value at a time. Keyframed properties by nature have multiple values so its not technically possible for that 1 control to change values over time.

The control in PR can only tell Tiny Inception AE (nested inside Premiere Pro to make Mogrts work) "make this Opacity 60" ... it can't tell Tiny Inception AE, "make the opacity go from 20 - 60 in 3 seconds from time 1 to time 4."

There is a workaround that is possible with a custom expressions function that will allow users to connect Expression Controls to individual keyframes and that will allow you to change those values in PR. We're creating How-To content at the moment, but I will share links to the info to help you achieve this in the next month or so.

Hang tight! Help is on the way :)

    Cheers,
    Dacia

Yup! And you can "pin" the shape layer to the text layer to keep them in sync with one another using the Responsive-Design Position tools right below the layer stack!

    OOORRRR
You could put both layers in a Group and then use the Transform tools for the Group itself!!

Also... pro-tip if you wanna get fancy... you can make any text or shape layer a mask by checking the "Mask with Text (or shape) checkbox below the shadow control. This will only affect the layers below it and / or the layers within the group ;)

Hope you go wild and have some fun!

    Hi Jesse,

Awesome news... this already exists! If you scroll down to the "Appearance" section of the Essential Graphics Panel after making a text layer, you'll find an option called "Background."

Click this and you'll get a nice rect behind your text. You can change the color, opacity and padding for it too ;)

    Hi Brian,

Looks like this issue is resolved in the Beta builds.. also be sure to keep an eye out for the next June release.

    Thanks so much!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Brian.

I'm going to try and reproduce on my end in the latest Beta and get a bug filed if the issue persists. Which, BTW, is available on Creative Cloud Desktop app for all users to go check out and give feedback on new features that haven't been released to the public yet... (if you're interested 😸).

    Cheers,

    Hi Brandon,

Can you describe your issue? Are their specific effects that are not working? Are you using a graphic that you made in Premiere Pro or a Mogrt that was created in After Effects?
A screen recording of the issues you're seeing or a project / Mogrt file would be super helpful. :)

    Thanks,
    Dacia

    Hi Candace,

You can scale any shape or shape as mask in the EGP by unlinking the scale lock and then keyframing either the vertical or horizontal scale separately in the Effect Control Panel.
The shape paths themselves can also be keyframed in the ECP by selecting individual vertices in the Program Monitor.
If neither of these things are what you're looking for though, would you mind sending over an example of what you're trying to achieve?

    Hope this is helpful,
    Dacia

    Hi Cameron,

There was a bug introduced in 14.0.1 that broke Text Editing via Dynamic Link. This bug was fixed in 14.0.2.

    https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/39483754-dynamic-link-live-text-broken-in-14-0-1

There is also an older issue where Dynamic Link with PR 2020 stopped working with minor versions of AE (17.0.0 and 17.01) and requires an upgrade to AE 17.0.2.

Would you mind upgrading to a PR 14.0.2 and AE 17.0.2 or newer and let me know if your issue persists?

Thank you and sorry about the headaches,

    Dacia

I'm also curious if you've considered using the Motion Graphics templates workflow for your text titles. You can create editable packaged AE Projects (.morgts) and edit them right in Premiere without having to bounce back and forth. 99% of them are rendered by a Tiny Inception AE inside of Premiere Pro and are shareable across, slack, emails, servers, and CC Libraries.

Here are a few resources if you're curious about how to get started:

    Hi,

Would you mind sharing the Mogrt file that you are having issues with? Unfortunately, you cannot attach Mogrts to a UserVoice post but you can add them to a creative cloud folder and share that link :)

Also what version of PR are you on and what kind of computer are you using?

Hope to get you back on track sooner than later.

    Thanks,
