Adobe used to have this. It would transcribe a source interview and add it to the metadata of the clip. You could then do a search and it would take you right to the sound bite. It was amazing. The speech recognition was early in development but it was was a tremendous time-saving tool.

    Adobe eliminated it years ago.

This would be extremely useful. Especially when dealing with multiple aspect ratio media where scaling is needed.

A workaround. I duplicated my sequence, called it audio nest, them deleted all the video from that and placed the audio in the video sequence timeline. Essentially a cumbersome form of nesting.

People have used the term "unprofessional" about Adobe's priorities and I've been saying that for years. The CS package you get for the annul fee is amazing, but the support and product, in many ways, is not Pro level and that's too bad.

How can we not have a true garbage matte effect with spline-able keyframes? Ballistics, soft edges or keyframes on wipes? Dissolves that go fro 0 to 100 rather than 20 to 80 then jump? To name just a few.

All these things have been standard in other editing packages for decades and repeatedly requested. Adobe has failed to address them so far. C'mon Adobe. Listen to the community. These would make the day to day use much more editor friendly.

I know this is old but I'll offer some advice to Adobe. I've been editing for many years. Since I've moved to Adobe it seems they have no desire to be compatible in environments where everyone is not operating on the latest systems with new computers. It really is designed for a "One Man Band" type workflow despite their focus on "Teams".

I'm a freelance editor and the constant incompatibility between systems is a daily headache. I create projects clients can customize. I have to keep track of which clients have what system. The ability to "Export As" would be fantastic. I understand some newer features may be lost, but simple edits shouldn't be a problem. Not everyone see's buying new computers as fun and cool. It's simply an expense they want to avoid for no good reason other than running software designed to force regular updating. My 2 cents.

    Another comment on this subject.

YES. Adobe, why can't you cache thumbnails as part of the project? Seems silly to a non-programmer.

However, as many have mentioned, using proxies and enabling them in Preferences/Media GREATLY speeds up regeneration. It's a workaround, yes, but there seems no urgency to address this problem. So for now, it may help someone reading this post like I did.

Same for me. ALL versions of PP (2017-2020) that are installed on this machine crash upon quitting.

    Jim Simon. Not exactly.

If I have a music track with lots of edits, track fades may occur over clip edits. THAT's why I used track edits. If I then need to ripple a program after I've done my track mix, having the OPTION to turn on a "Ripple track keyframes" function would be very handy.

I understand what you are saying, but I like the concept of having that option.
