Not sure if this is a bug or a windows issue...
But if I'm rendering something in the background in After Effects while Im using Premiere or Photoshop etc.. When AE has finished rendering it pops up, then I have to minimise it to get back to Premiere.
This is very frustrating esp if Im cutting or watching something etc.. or rotoscoping in photoshop etc.. Why does it have to take focus? Can't it finish rendering, play the sound and stay in the background?

Hi folks! A quick update to let you know that three new Multi-Frame Rendering features went live in the After Effects public beta (18.4×37 and later) earlier this week:

    • Speculative Preview: When AE is idle (you’re checking your email, grabbing a coffee or even just browsing effects), it will render your timeline in the background so you’re ready to preview when you get back.
    • Multi-Frame Rendering in Adobe Media Encoder Beta: Enable MFR in the AE Beta and export in the background up to 3x faster.
    • Render notifications on desktop, iOS and Android: AE can let you know when it’s done no matter where you are via the Creative Cloud app. (Fun bonus: notifications will even work on your smartwatch!)

Here’s a link with more info on each feature:
    https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta/multi-frame-rendering-is-here-aka-the-multithreading-you-ve-been-asking-for/m-p/12131175#M925

Let us know how things are working for you on the beta forums. And stay tuned for more Multi-Frame Rendering…

Came here to request this exact feature.
It makes so much sense and Im sure an easy implementation for Adobe.
Should also be a feature in Premiere Pro for nests.

You can now change the default 'Solids' folder name in the preferences under "New Project" settings.
Should be able to do the same for Pre Comps, with also the option to make the new Pre Comp folder as a sub folder of the parent to the current composition, OR a top level Pre Comp folder.

This also needs to be implemented on the cross dissolve transitions as the linear dissolve is not smooth like it is when you have linear compositing unchecked.

Yeah the math on the cross dissolve transition with linear enabled is ugly. I get that it's fading in a linear fashion, i.e. a 25 frame X dissolve would have the 24th frame at 5% opacity, but this transition should not be linear, or give us an option to ease the transitions like I have requested in the past! an ease would fix this.

I have pushed for a request to have auto scroll when playing audio wave forms back in the source monitor. Currently it doesn't scroll along when you play them when zoomed in, would need to so this also when playing audio/video together in monitor. The source monitor needs some serious love.

I can't believe this still hasn't been addressed in PP... It seems like such a no brainer.
