How would others paste to the correct track? I much prefer choosing where my clips paste.

This would be great. One thing you should try out is binding "Apply Default Audio Transition To Playhead" and "Apply Default Audio Transition From Playhead"
This is the fastest way I've found to set audio fade in and outs. It works both on selected clips or selected tracks. There is a similar keybind for video as well.

This would be great. For small stuff Adobe could just buy the panel from the folks that made Post Notes and keep it updated.

You can already change your scratch disk locations in project settings.

I would also very much ike to resize column width in the marker panel, sometimes useful info is in the name, sometimes the thumbnail and sometimes the comments. I'd love to be able to choose.

You can add a duration track in the timecode window.

You can also do this by going into the Metadata Settings in your Project Panel and enabling the metadata column for Video and Audio usage. This will let you see how many times a clip is used and where, and even go directly to that spot by clicking the dropdown and then the location.

They did break this feature in the latest update so if you are on 2018.1 you just need to make sure nothing is selected in your project panel before using the Video or Audio usage dropdown.

    Hi Florian,

while this is a rather critical and large change to the way the application works and will take some time to be implemented, we’ll definitely put this under consideration.

There’s more than one solution to this problem, though.

A good short term opportunity is to use the parallel install feature in the creative cloud application. It should help to at least take away some of the issues working with people on a different version of the application.

Another thing worth keeping in mind is that you can install CC on two different machines (if you’re on an individual subscription). That gives you additional opportunity to keep different versions around for compatibility reasons.

I’ll update the status of this request as we move along.

If you have further thoughts on this matter, please keep them coming.

    Thanks
    Patrick

What about a save in compatibility mode option where you can choose to strip the project file of features newer than a year or two?? Would you go for that?

I am so confused. Select a clip, hit mark selection and then extract.

If that isn't what you want then use the modifier keys that make the looping icon when moving to ripple insert while moving a clip on your timeline.

I have found that deselecting everything in the project panel allows me to use the usage drop down again. Can someone else confirm this?

    I am on windows 10.

Just use select in to out. It will select only footage between your in and out points on targeted tracks.
