    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

I just downloaded Premiere Pro 23.0.

I was delighted to see none of the comments here have been heeded and the new version sticks with the hopless, stupid and illogical export menu. A menu so dumb you have to flick a switch to the right of the export option you just selected with the mouse to re confirm your selected option!!?.

    Pathetic.

I am so glad I cancelled my subscription. A cancelation that Adobe wanted to charge me £15 for the next month as it is policy to charge 50% for the remaining months. I had one month to go but during cancelation I was offered 3 free months. I accepted the 3 months free and then cancelled anyway. This gave me three months free and negated the £15 charge as 50% of zero is zero.

Congratulations Adobe, you are dumb in multiple spheres of operation

Having just completed my first project entirely in Resolve, I am begining to see why the Premiere Pro interface has been messed with in order to converge with the Resolve style and ethos. It is quite simply because Resolve is utterly superb. 8 days continual work without a single crash or stutter, no issues with playback, render or playout of any kind. A very similar interface and grading that is simple fast and on another planet with regards to depth and capability. There is NOTHING that Resolve doesnt do better faster and with less fuss that Premiere Pro and with icons that I can actually see without two pairs of glasses. My subscription is up for renewal in a month and even by using the new customer dodge to get it at £39.00 I am not going to renew it. Adobe's recent lack of progress and ever crashing software is at an end for me and I wish them all the very best in the future Sadly, afer a dacade or two it is a future path that we will not be sharing. I hope Adobe can sort themselves out and get back thier reputation and direction. In the meantime I am learning all about the wonders of nodes and how simple and logical that can be. All the best guys I hope you can get back on course X

I am 63 years old. I started my professional career as an online editor in the early 80’s. Moving from Convergence to Paltex and then Axial edit controllers. I also dabbled with Sony and CMX controllers. I used Ampex and Abekas DVE’s and Grass Valley, Sony and cox T24 switchers. At the birth of non linear editing I moved from Lightworks to Avid Media composer and after a decade or so switched to Adobe Premiere Pro because of the Format limitations of Avid. Sadly, my needs and demands have outrun Premiere pro and, as of a few days ago I have begun the transition to Resolve. Yesterday was stilted and patchy, lacking my usual flow, but today was better and I am beginning to feel at home. The toolset is similar and let’s face it, all NLE’s share a huge majority of functionality and conventions. Already, I am finding features I couldn’t access and discovering new ones that are quite superior in unexpected ways.

What I’m driving at is… I and all professional users will use any appropriate tool if we are moved to. We don’t care about allegiance and loyalty, we chase functionality and stability. In the last few months Premiere ceased to help me do my job. It began to let me down and leave me humiliated in front of my clients. I didn’t want to move to a new system, it’s a pain and it costs time and effort. It’s a pain. But… I’m going and I suspect I will not renew my subscription.

Notably, in the last few days, Resolve has never crashed. NEVER.

That alone is reason to switch. But already I am warming to the new, more professional, more functional, accurate features of a system developed by a high end and innovative Television company that is driven by the industry and it’s professionals, not pandering to a content creators and graphic designers.

So thank you Adobe. You were amazing. Sadly, now you are not. I wish you every success with Premiere, but I would drop the Pro, because as someone with over 40 years in Television you are absolutely not Pro anymore.

    C

There are a mound of users out there in your huge user base who would be prepared to prelease test for you. You just have to ask a few hundred and you would have a deep error checking network. Its in our interest that your product is bulletproof
