Why is this still a problem? In what world would anyone WANT to export with a banner watermark on the video.

Why is a simple warning when you click export such a difficult thing to implement before wasting hours of the user's time only for them to see this banner in the export.

I do not understand how Premiere sits with these absolutely amateur clumsy issues for YEARS. They really need to focus om some serious QoL updates.

    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

"please consider incorporating Media Encoder into your workflow. It does have the old interface and a lot of extra gems such as rendering in the background, real queueing and then some. It's a power house for power users."

This is such an odd suggestion, really. "Please use a separate piece of software to export since we know the one inside the editing software has a lot of shortcomings."

Other companies really trying to create an all-in-one solution and Adobe here splitting the workflow up into as many different applications as they can. Don't understand how that is supposed to be better.

I wouldn't mind using Media Encoder, to be honest, but the problems are:

    1) You can't just quickly pop something to Media Encoder without going through the awful new export window anyway. One of the main complaints is all the extra clicks and a knock to workflow. The suggestions being even MORE clicks and extra time added to workflow isn't a good suggestion. Maybe if there was a shortcut to send the In and Out points directly to Media Encoder and skipping the export window entirely would be lovely.

    2) Media Encoder really struggles when it comes to plugin use and generally seems to be unreliable. Sometimes it alters fonts without warning, throws away the plugin used on a clip completely or renders an effect in a way I did not intend or has errors in the export that doesn't happen during normal export.

The only way I found to get it to export properly is to use Premiere's internal renderer. I can't reliably use Media Encoder for masters and delivery material, only offlines/viewing material. 95% of export errors I've encountered over the years came from using Media Encoder instead of rendering it inside Premiere.

Although #2 seems to become be better and better slowly.

The "We get it, change is hard" response is a little condescending. Why change it in the first place when the new design is objectively worse?

I can learn to live with it if there is an option to see and select existing files and filenames. To not have to try and guess what I named the previous file if I want to overwrite it or make sure it's in the right location.

Why separate the "File Name" and "Location" boxes? Since you can't see the files already there when choosing a location.

One of the most annoying bugs (Amongst the countless others) in Premiere.
Premiere existed since 1991, you'd think 31 YEARS is enough time to figure out how to get smooth playback in their video editing software.

Premiere is nearly as old as I am, yet constant bugs like these still exist that I wouldn't even expect in freeware software.

Wow, it has /substantially/ improved in 22.4 Build 57 for me. I wouldn't say fully fixed, it has happened once or twice in the last hour of working for me, but it's better than it happening every single time.

And if it does happen, I'm able to successfully pause sooner rather than the playback going for 20 more seconds.

Still a problem in the latest beta. This needs more votes.

This is absolutely critical. Don't understand how this was shipped with such a glaring bug.

Me too. I think this is either a very new problem or only affecting a small number of users.
