    ***AMMENDMENT***

As a quick update for those very few following who may have been as confused as I was:

I had mistakenly assumed that the earlier Import Dialog (again, I'm currently on 22.4.0, Build 57) was completely gone with the new import features rolled out. Turns out, they're just buried. If you're importing a time lapse to clip, you can still do it in a familiar way here:

    1. File > Import (Ctrl + i / Cmd + i)
    2. Select images, with all the same filename number rules as before. Click the "Image Sequence" box, also as before.
    3. Profit.

And so, I'd like to present a new suggestion to the dev team (sorry that many folks have been kind of ****** and unprofessional with their feedback):

In Import Settings panel in the new Import UI:

    New collapsible: "Image Sequence"
-[Clip] Name (following suit with other collapsibles)
-X number of images selected info widget à la Lightroom import info (bonus points for a preview runtime calculation)
-Per-Image duration settings, can factor into runtime calculation above

I'm a medium-seasoned vet of Premiere and struggled with this in the new UI. If the goal is to remove barriers to entry for new folks, I think this would definitely benefit that goal by making common features easier to find.

Possible added benefit: this would be a great opportunity to add some easily accessible features to time lapse options (maybe individual image duration settings and import resizing?).

    All,

first of all I wanted to thank everyone for making this a productive conversation over the last couple of days.

As several people responded to my comment about keeping the tone civilised, I need to dwell on that for a minute. Please hear me out, this is important to everyone on my crew and I hope it will be to you.

Saying that we shouldn't be surprised when things get heated is very problematic in my opinion. How do you expect a junior person on my team to respond to a technical question when it is combined with something that can easily be described as hate speech? How do you think we can actually come together on actual issues when there's already the assumption that we're a big faceless corporation, not even listening to our customers?

People on my team have received threats. I've been there over the years,…

Definitely would be a huge asset! It would be great to be able to copy and paste the creative panel details separately after painstakingly matching the rest of the colour balancing details from shot to shot.
