The "we know it's good for you" approach just gave me a scare. I installed some software on my machine and when I check it out, surprise, Maxon was there, among the last installed. Since not in my wildest dreams I imagined Adobe would install something without my consent, I immediately blamed the new software.
An hour later of searching for the wrong staff, I finally started searching for "who installed Maxon on my pc" and found the Adobe forum page https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/prevent-maxon-cinema-4d-force-install/td-p/10695447?page=1 I agree with the comment below that mr. Warren Heaton is condescending in that discussion. By no stretch, one could easily consider the installation of Maxon abusive. Apparently, there are quite a few.
So, now that I know it's not malware / bitcoin miner / virus etc, I can DECIDE FOR MYSELF that I do not actually need Maxon and can uninstall it. Looking forward to uninstalling it again and again after the next Adobe updates...
