Better clip duplication
It would be really great if when duplicating a clip in the timeline we had the option to duplicate to a new track as opposed to just duplicating right after itself. I often want to have the same clip playing at the same time on two different tracks so I can affect them differently in various ways and now when you duplicate it just puts it right after the one that you duplicated. And then I have to drag it up onto another track and even then can be tricky to move it to the same starting time. One way I envision this is tapping and holding on a clip and a new command being “duplicate to new track”, or “duplicate to existing track (option to choose which)”. Also, directly related to this, could be a duplicate multiple times. “Duplicate (a number) times. Attached is a quick little video of the way it is now of holding down to duplicate and then getting it to another track aligned at the same time. If nothing else it would be great if when dragging it up to another track after a duplication it snapped to the align time of the initial clip, or an option to turn on or off the snap.

Hi Ben!
We appreciate your detailed feedback. I’m happy to let you know that we’re making really nice improvements to the timeline on all platforms.
We’re not going to be changing the way clip duplication works, but you’ll now be able to drag and snap to edit points easily.
I do not have an exact date for when this will be released, but I can say it’s coming soon!
Thanks again for your feedback!

Hey there @petergaraway! What if, while holding Alt + dragging a certain clip, it duplicates that clip itself.
Making it duplication more easier. Currently duplication requires duplicating the clip into another timeline (most likely on it's top), with the Alt + drag, you can duplicate already duplicate a clip and still be able to place it somewhere on the timeline.
Please make it happen. It's not that hard.
