Make a program that works!
It wouldn't/couldn't recoganize videos shot usiing hevc codec. Message came saying I needed to upgrade to subscription to allow me to edit videos using that codec. That is a poor way to provide a trial! So I upgraded to subscription, but subsequent to doing so, I still couldn't edit hevc videos. I called your helpline (People with very thick accents - hard to understand). One told me that I needed to go to Microsoft and upload additional dlls. I asked to speak to his supervisor who was more helpful He told me I needed to download the hevc codec from Microsoft which cost me .99 cents. Not a lot, but annoying, and it turned out useless. He spent an hour connected to my computer trying different things unsuccessfully. I subsequently got a call back from the service center wanting to know where things stood--unchanged. I had tried deleting and reinstalling Premiere Rush to no avail and removing any exteraneous files that might not allow a full install to complete. No success. He also spent an hour connected to my computer without correcting the problem. So: that is a really significant bug! When working with the program, it would inexplicably hang up. I had to use Task Manager to close the program and when trying to restart it, received message that Creative Cloud was damaged and I would have to re-install it. That happened at least twice. And there were problems trying to re-install Creative Cloud. I had to go to Program Settings and uninstall the program before it would install. I have an issue with Creative Cloud also. It indicates that Premiere Rush is included with my Photography Subscription, but apparently it really isn't. That smacks of bait and switch/false advertising! I finally loaded Premiere Rush on another computer and was able to process the hevc videos without the Microsoft hevc codec i was told to install on my main machine, so that effort and money was wasted. I was a software engineer for 40 years. I know problems when I see them, and this program has major problems. I will be cancelling my Premiere Rush subscription, and in the future when I need a video editor, I will definitely be looking elsewhere. This was a terrible experience.
