Select Video Track to Which Media Is Added
Two parts to this - and I'm working in iOS.
When I add media it immediately dumps it all into the timeline, obviously in the wrong order. It would be better if it took it into the Project Panel only, then let me add shot-by-shot to my timeline.
Selecting the part of a shot I want to use from the Project Panel should be easier. At the moment I have a tiny button to click to open, then when I've selected the range of the shot, I have to click + and then click Add. (iMovie does this better).
Once I've selected the section of shot I want, I'd like to select the destination track to which it is added. For example, if I've put a long A-Roll interview on video track 1 and want to overlay it with stills or video, I'd like to mark the in-point and cut it directly into Video Track 2. At the moment I have to add each shot to the end of the A-roll (which can be long) and then drag it into place on the 2nd Video track. Dragging over a long A-roll often messes things up.
I'm sure you'll get there in time. Rush is a good start but little things still need fixing to rival iMovie.

I completely agree. We could save a lot of time if we could just add clips to the media bin and then decide how they get sent to the timeline and to which tracks. You can't even lock V1 and then add media, it throws an error alert saying "To insert the selected media, V1 track has to be unlocked". This wastes a lot of time.
