Ability unlink or move video clips freely in the main track
I can't move the first video clip to another track when the first audio clip is linked to it. I wanted the video clip to be 'on top' of the other clips (ie, an image on top of a background).
If I try to delete the video track and add it again, it deletes the separate audio clip as well. I had to delete all clips and re-add them to the timeline manually in the right order.
The linking is not a bad idea for sync reasons (looks like you got it from Final Cut Pro), but just needs an option to unlink.

Ok so I ran into an issue where I am editing a photo montage for my father in law, and at the last minute we decided to replace the video loop background and I had this weird yellow lines linking the photos on the video layer 2 track, to the layer one looping background, I have no clue as to why it did this but when I deleted the video track, it deleted the photos in the above track as well! ****** off and running out of time to finish the project I locked the photo layer and voila, I was now able to replace the background video with the newer desired clip…. So locking the layer enabled me to delete the background track and add a new one..

The default (bottom) video track seems to lock to other tracks above, so when I delete from it, the items above disappear. This is indicated by the orange lines. It's very annoying, just let us have 4 (or 8) standard video tracks.

When I set some titles over a clip, when I want to replace the clip I have to do all sorts of stuff to avoid loosing what I did to just replace the clip for a new one. If titles layer was independent of clips, it would be so easier.

When I split an audio clip, why does it automatically change the volume of the clip I just cut away from? When it does this, I have to go back an adjust each individual split clip's volume to keep volume consistency.

Hi.
It seems that the first/original media, - and therefore the first track, - is by default "Locked" etc.
I think this was mentioned, but I figured out that by locking the other tracks, you can just delete the first media/track. And then it can be used as an ordinary track. So just add back in that just-deleted media.
Good luck!

I often have to create video with preview/comp clips and swap them out with finals after review. When the clips are "snapped" in with the other tracks it is really, really difficult to just trade one video for another. I can't figure out a way to unlink or snap those tracks. Please add this feature! It's adding hours to my life!

The linking regularly forces me to move elements together when I don't want to. I'd rather turn the function off than unlock and lock layers to make edits.

I've found that I can avoid this problem by importing some random video into the project first, and setting it to be invisible and inaudible. Then none of the actual videos or audio that I import get "linked" to each other and it becomes possible to sync things properly.
I'm completely stymied about why this linking exists, though. It seems to serve no purpose other than to prevent me from syncing tracks with each other. If it does serve some arcane purpose, maybe you could keep it but not have it be the default? -

Absolutely agree on this - it is so hard to explain to people how to unlink clips.
A simple double click / double tap to unlink would make this annoying glitch go away!

Thanks for the feedback Prizm! We're looking into ways to provide the best experience when working with linked clips.
For your specific case, my workaround is adding a 1 frame black clip (graphic/title) to the beginning of the sequence.
I hope this helps for now. Happy New Year!

Currently the app has audio sync issues where the audio runs ahead of the clip. Also some major missing features are;
1) Speeding of clips
2) unable to unlink audio from video
3) rotationAs of now I feel this app shud be free.

Hello PG,
I'm aware you can lock tracks. However it can somewhat slow down editing having to lock and unlock tracks. This is especially true on mobile where you can also end up deleting objects that are off screen (due to limited screen space). I get why it is there, but you would be better off either implementing actual parenting/linking where the use can decide what's linked or simply (probably not simple for technical or managerial reasons) allow the default linking of tracks to be toggled on/off in the settings. -
Hi Jarrod ,
Thanks for your feedback. Just in case you’re not aware, you can lock tracks in Rush to avoid clips from shifting on other tracks if you prefer them to stay in place or not delete when editing in the primary video track.
To access track controls (lock, mute audio/video) click the Control Tracks button in the bottom left of the desktop and iPad version, bottom iPhone version.
I know this isn’t exactly what you want but hope it helps!

It appears that any assets on the timeline that line up with a video clip are linked to that clip and move or delete if it does. This a tad annoying.
Would like to not have that the default and/or the ability to turn that function off.
For instance, I would like it if I have to delete the first video clip that the music track and intro titles stay and the rest of the video shifts.
Or if I have to delete the last clip, that the end GFX slide over instead of being deleted.
