Separate audio/video tracks
Please make it so I can separate out audio tracks from the video tracks and move them around independently.
Thanks for all your feedback. Since we’re in the season of giving, we’re excited to let you all know that work has begun on this feature, and we look forward to sharing it with you in an upcoming release on all platforms.
Stay tuned for an update when this feature is available.

This is SO basic—even iMovie does this. Just spent two hours trying to figure out how to do it, only to find out Rush CAN’T do it. So frustrating. Please hurry up—currently I have to export my Rush movie to iMovie to add music. Ugh!

It’s 2020, i came here searching to see if I was off on a setting, you would think auto snapping would be normal on a touch screen app.

Wtf????? Come on adobe, it’s incredible your stupidity in making an amazing app though missing this simple and important feature
Great news that this is being worked on

Hey Peter, I really need this separate audio from video feature, do tell me when this update will be out.
Thanks very much for the idea and for providing a screen recording. Very helpful!
We're working on making this happen.
Thanks for writing in and sharing your feedback. We agree that the ability to separate audio is a very key feature and we hope to give that to you all soon. I'm going to merge the request with the existing separate audio request.
You can create J and L cuts without that feature in Rush today. Check out the attached video to see how. Let us know if you have any other questions or feedback.

It is very much needed that we take audio more into consideration with our video editing. I find it great that there is an audio ducking feature! But it is crucial that we get the “unlink audio” tool as well, I often use other mediocre apps to achieve this, but I wish I can find it in a respected video editing app like premiere rush, how else would we be able to make those J-cuts and L-cuts into our edits? I’d pretty much like to hear the sounds before and after I see something, please make that happen for us adobe users, I know this isnt a matter of technicality for sure, I don’t know what’s keeping you from gifting us that tool yet. Thank you

To be able to detach audio from video and delete just the video or just the audio, then be able to move audio from one video on to the next one via timeline, and give a audio fade option just like video when skipping from one to the next.

100% agree would make life eaiser if you could unlink audio!!

Totally. Also — audio seems to have channels, but I cannot see where to add that.

Wow, I can't believe there is no feature to separate audio and video tracks. That's a must-have for sure. Any update on that, Admin?
Jonathan Sleight commented
Specifically downloaded this app to fix a audio sync problem thinking adobe would have this feature covered.

Can't believe that this hasn't been resolved since the initial post in 2018.

You can mute the existing audio in the video and then add a new Music.
Go to Audio on the right and under "Basic" click on "Mute".
Hope this helps.
Dude they should just be able to separate and then move them around independently you shouldn’t have to make this so difficult PLEASEEEE
Why hasn't this been implemented yet?
The possibility to be able to unlink the audio from the video is absolutely essential.
