A bit outside these forums but...

THe thing I struggle with regarding large software companies is the sheer facelessness and uncaring of the companies.

I separate the companies from the people working from them. I expect that many of the people working for these companies care to some level.

But the effect of large companies is a monolithic uncaringness, and Adobe is right at the top of those companies.

IN this particular forum, it would help GREATLY our sense of someone caring even a little if our comments showed a little tick or something when they have been read by an Adobe person.

I'm not asking for a comment, or an agreement. Just a tiny acknowledgement that somewhere behind the great grey faceless monolith, a sturdy worker is slaving away at the coalface of wishes and bug reports and that our words are not just being shoved off a cliff into the void of space...

Make a media player for small film festivals that on the chosen output (HDMI output) has the framerate of the played file.
A player with a playlist in which you can set the audiolevel of each file, set audio routing for each file, insert stills with a duration you can set while playing some music which you can set to a certain level.
It should play all possible files (like Premiere). With a Black Magic shuttle you can alter the framerate on the output of the blackmagic box. This means the Cinema beamer with HDMI in will switch (*****) to theinputted HDMI framrate. Thus finally the frameskipping of a Macbook pro or Imac is gone.
A Imac with a second screen (being the cinema beamer/projector) you have to set the refreshrate of the Imac, you can choose between 50hz or 60Hz. This is OK for 25 Frames per second (50Hz) or 30 Frames per second 60 Hz. Switching is manual and causes a black screen on the output while retiming. And all of the films of 24 Frames per second, 23,98 and 29, 97 have frames skipped since their timing does not fit onto 30 or 50 cycles.

It is about time that you come with a player for this purpose to accomodate small festivals that cannot afford DCP players, although it would be brilliant if your player would do DCP's as well.
But the playlist needs to be programmable, just like CueLab (Cuelab does not switch timing on the output either). Maybe Cuelab is a bit elaborate but a good example!

I think the Premiere Pro and Ingest settings and Project Manager windows are great. Can we integrate these media management in all of the video apps, including after effects and audition?

usually, I ingest all my media to a specific folder, and I am bouncing back and forth between all the apps, but when I find new media to use, I need to add it to premiere before in import it into AE.it would be amazing if I can add media to after effects and it adds it to the same folder that I already designated as my ingest folder, without having to go into premiere first, let it copy and import, then import it into AE then start working on it...

Is this a possibility?

I realise this is rather outside the point of this area.

But in my experience the Automatic Support Assistant AI thing is worse than useless. It's of no help in anyway. It NEVER has suggested anything useful. IT just creates more aggravation and frustration.

JUst replace it with a couple of slightly targeted pages about what we are looking for. WE're going to have to get to a person anyway, so at least give the poor support techs a leg up with a bit of information, and a client who is not already annoyed ay having to get past a stupid bot.

Are there any plans to integrate XD into a real production workflow? I thought that would be the goal when XD was released, but it continues to simply be a "closed loop" system.

We've been using Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver/InDesign (less so)/Muse (ugh!) to make websites and apps for quite a while now, but this is inefficient to say the least. Photoshop isn't well suited to variable width (non-pixel-perfect) design, Illustrator is not great at interactivity, InDesign is simply not designed for digital publishing (imo), and Muse....oh Muse (ugh, again).

I feel like XD could be used to build an interface and export those assets straight to CSS/JS digestible by Dreamweaver/Brackets (etc) without too much work on the back-end. As is, it is basically an Axure/Balsamiq clone.

Those apps (Axure/Balsamiq) are great for prototyping an interface, but it doesn't seem like any of them are going to "break the glass ceiling" and adapt themselves to a real production workflow. Adobe could be way ahead of the curve on this! Wouldn't that be a nice change?
