  1. I found a bug when you switch PC's

    When I Switched PC's and Switched my Ip's I was able to register charecter animator for a second trial when I already used my trial before.

  2. Scale exports to different sizes (vector based projects)

    It would be nice to scale the entire scene (and all its sub-scenes/puppets) to any scale. For example, I have a master scene which contains many puppets and everything is in vector. I am working in a 1920x1080 resolution and everything is made for this resolution. It would be nice though since everything is in vector to be able to scale the project up to 4k for example (same aspect ratio) and now have a 4k vector animation of this too done very easily. 4k+ is very slow in character animator to work with which is why I use 1920x1080.…

  4. default puppet position option

    I think this would be very helpful!
    the basic position in which we design the character is almost never a default position for it. So you always need to start with one dragger recording of a default position, and than on top of that additional dragger recordings.

    it would be great if we could build one or maybe even a number of "default" body positions and choose without needing to record it with a different dragger!

  5. Scale Track Height (Premiere Style)

    Would be nice to be able to scale the track size vertically in the timeline like Premiere's behavior.

  6. Make the default be the last thing you did, rather than the pre-set default

    Please change the default setting to what you did previously, rather than some pre-determined default. It is so irritating to constantly have to go back, un check the red buttons, etc.

    For instance, in recording a walk behavior, you have to go back to the beginning, so your characters are in the correct place, then you have to make sure to fix the body speed so that they actually record. If you want to record it over again, you AGAIN have to go back re-do the body speed.

    There should be a default to what you just did and then…

  7. Pixel mask on a group

    Working on an illustrator's existing character, I wanted to ease my pain and use a layer mask on the group of faces.

    Except it only works layer by layer. (one mask, one layer) whereas Photoshop proposes also the "one group, one mask" option.

    I don't know if it would be possible to add that.

  8. camera

    I tried CC last year and stopped using it when I started having webcam issues. A year later, I still have issues with it. I have a Logitech C922 and Blackmagic Capture Recorder. At first, I got the "Camera Busy" with NO other applications running. I tested it, I opened OBS and the C922 turned on no problem. I closed OBS, restarted, went to Device Manager disabled Blackmagic, restarted, opened CC and still the same issue "Camera Busy".

    Yes, I went to the 'Switch camera' option, yes I 'Default Camera' too, still same issue. I performed another test, closed CC…

  9. Hand puppet (Muppet) input

    After Effects and premiere have VR display preview. But what about putting those hand trackers (oculus touch, vive wand) to good use? They have analog triggers, buttons and joysticks plus 3D positional and rotational tracking. I can't help but think that all of that real time data could be used in a more traditional pupeteering way.

    You don't really need the output to be in VR or even 3D. Just use the input controlers as is like how Henson and co used for their Muppets.

    Would probably easier as input for some of us than the webcam setups

  11. When in the scene timeline mode, add a quick shortcut for dragging on empty space: Right mouse button

    As far as I can see I can't find the option to make a shortcut for just dragging around the timeline (similar to the hand/drag tool in Premiere); I saw the "M" thing, but it doesn't seem to be that responsive. It would be sweet if you could right click on an empty space in your scene timeline and that would just drag the entire timeline. Adversely, it could be ctrl+ click, or alt+ click. Just the option would be nice.

  12. Ability to copy and paste resolution settings when using high res PSD files to record Ch actions in low res

    Please add feature where resolution settings can be copied as templates to use in instances where you need to animate with low res versions of bigger files to avoid clipping that occurs with less powerful computers, eg Start with a 4K master Photoshop file, then edit the Scene in 1080p to avoid clipping, then change the Scene settings back to 4K after all actions have been recorded. What we need to be able to copy is the scale size of the puppet, X/Y axis, etc. Not just the Scene pixels ratios.

    CH only have parallax effect for eyes and nose. wish to have it for mouth too.

  15. Inverted variables

    One thing that I could see to be helpful, not only in my puppet designs, but just generally in character animator is the option to invert the way the camera reads the facial movements. How I see this working is to create a little check box that says "invert" next to it, and all it does is invert the way the assets of your puppet reacts to your face.

    Nutcracker Jaw: Invert [ x ]

    Examples:
    Nutcracker jaw closing when your mouth is open.
    Eyes looking left when you look right.
    Eyebrows moveing down when you rais them.

  17. Option for additional in-between states on head turns.

    The snapping of the head to different views isn't a big deal if you are using the pose to pose feature. It really stands out however when pose to pose is off. I would like a few in-between states for the head turns.

    Do you mean that you want more than 5 stopping points or views or do you mean that you are trying to get more layers into the head turn? As noted, you can add several image layers that play in sequence to a single view by using cycle layers behavior, allowing for a smoother head turn with more ‘in-between’ frames. However, assuming you are asking for more pre-defined views in the rigging, that wouldn’t solve your request.

  18. Color Blending Mode

    I'm unsure why the color blend mode isn't already a thing in the blending modes for CA. It is extremely useful. If there is a true technical reason why it isn't added or can't be added, then I would love to know, it sounds like an interesting thing to leave out. It may also just be a mistake, and it got left out when programing it.
    Anyway, I hope the best for the program, I'm having so much fun creating, and pushing it to its limits.

    Hello! I love your product. :)

         Internal error code: (751789695:79+6) assertion failed!
    

    I was working on creating an animation, saved a new file, imported a puppet, and then was going to drag into the timeline but as I moved the mouse from the menu, as seen in the screenshot, I received the following error code. I was able to recreate it several times.

    Everything seems to be fine with the file, however.

  20. Having a bar that limits the record parameters

    In music sequences programs, there is generally a bar that you control for record in and out. So, for instance, if you just wanted to record something for .5 seconds, it would do that only and you don't have to go back and change all the little things that have been recorded past that time. For one character these little things can be 10-15 bars you have to adjust. I could send a picture of an example, but I don't think there is that capability here.
