    so im trying to use OBS Virtual camera but character Animator not detecting it Please Help/fix asap

  3. Allow curly braces in layer names of PSD imports

    I am importing documents with hidden layers that contain curly braces reminiscent of JSON notation, and Character Animator freaks out, cites an "unknown error", and refuses to auto-load my .psd any more.

    Apparently, something in the Import process is trying to execute code because of curly braces in the layer names (even when hidden and not rigged). It would be convenient to be able to use these characters in my layer titles, though I understand I'm likely the first to ever ask for this.

    It's sort of a bug, but I don't have a crash report - only my experience…

  4. More Controls on the In-Out-Points of Audio in a source window like in After Effects

    I'm doing a Cartoon with several scenes and I want to keep them separate for a better overview and stack them in After Effects. It would be amazing to be able to change the Audio's In- and Out-Points in a source window and be able to see the current Timecode of the Audio. At the Moment, once I trim it, I have no idea, what it's Timecode is. This makes the workflow quite tedious when you want to keep track of your scenes and maybe trim a few frames here and there.

  5. Resolution Options for Photoshop (Raster) Puppets

    It would be really helpful if there was an option to import raster, photoshop-based puppets at a lower "draft" resolution (like you currently can with vector Illustrator-based puppets) so that recording and setting up scenes can move more swiftly and smoothly and you still have the option to res up before outputting your final render or if a scene needs a tighter than usual zoom. (I know that you can achieve this by having different versions of your puppets, but the downside of that is, often we edit puppets on the fly, and if you edit the lower-res puppet, you…

  6. All Behavoirs need to be applied to the active layer detemined by swap set and cycle layers

    When I added smooth head turns and multiple body views to my character, I run into the issue where I have to add certain behaviors, such as eye gaze, face, body and limb IK, to multiple layers in order for them to work.

    On head, I have "smooth" head turn setup using the head views tag and the cycle layers behavior. Inside each head view layer, I have a 2-frame cycle consist of the main head drawing and an in-between head drawing that gets cycled during head turn.   7. The option to replace assets would be nice

    Coming from an AE standpoint, I am really used to the Replace Footage option and Character Rigging can be quite fastidious if your characters' got all (or a lot of) the phonemes.

    I tried to base my second character on my first one because I was expecting the option the Replace Footage to be there, layers are saved the same way, it's the exact resolution. That would have been saving a ton of work in pre-production.

    Saddly, it's not there... yet?
    Or maybe I am not looking at the good place?!

    Either way, that option should be implemented, I think…

  9. I cannot use mouse & touch input (eye gaze function) when using triggers

    I've got triggers to setup the emotions of my puppet, everything is working perfectly... except the fact that when I use a keyboard trigger to change its emotions, the mouse & touch input (eye gaze function) seems to stop working.

    Is there a workaround?

  10. Motion Library: "Record One Motion" button is slightly confusing for me

    Hello. I think it's a little confusing for me with the "Record One Motion" button. It isn't really clear how to continuously record a loop motion (unless you record one motion and then drag the layer out on the timeline). In this instance, I'm trying to use it to create a dance loop.

    I think there should also be a "Record a continuous looped motion" or a "Record loop throughout Work area" button to compliment that button.

  11. Able to move characters from Pro to Starter Mode to Animate Faster

    It would be great to be able to take the original characters we create in Pro mode using puppet maker back to Starter mode to be able to animate faster, and then be able to drop them back in the Pro mode timeline.

  13. .psd importer doesn't work, write software to allow importing .psd files

    When I use the Character Animator "File" import function, none of my .ai or .psd show up as eligible for importing. The user documentation says it should, but it doesn't. So the this program is unusable for me.

  15. actual real-time playback? What a concept!

    Is this still a bug or am I crazy?!?

    You can't scrub through the timeline or even move and stop to a place in the timeline and see EXACTLY what is happening. You have to hit PLAY so that the app "wakes up" and updates/renders what you are supposed to see at that moment. Am I crazy? Why isn't everyone up in arms about this? It's absolutely unacceptable and unfathomable that this would even be happening. Yet, it's not a surprise at all since this is Adobe we're talking about and they are famous for such lazy oversights.   19. Tool to scale and rotate layers pivoting from the main handle while rigging

    Currently, setting the scaling and rotation value to a layer results in scaling and rotaing the layer arbitrary from the center of the layer. Instead, I would like to see a rigging tool that can scale and rotate the layer by using its main handle (green and named with the name of the layer) as pivot.
