  1. Trigger is latched by default please and don't refresh:')

    I alway, always, most of the time if not always, make trigger as latched. Why? because it is very convenient!

    And I don't know why changing a trigger key takes second to process? What's so hard about it for the system?
    And don't refresh the scene when we change a trigger key! Just please don't:(

  2. Precise Rigging

    I'm kinda perfectionist, so here we go.

    I would love it to have Character Animator has more control in Stick and Handle. Like the length of the stick, the rotation, and position. I want a precise and even position and rotation of the stick, for example, on both hands. And so the handle position too. I want it to be precisely positioned for both right and left arm.

    Who else with me fellow perfectionist?:D

  3. On Screen Transformation

    Would it be very helpful to directly move the puppet from the preview scene without having to do the old way of adjusting position, rotation, and scale from the transform control? Just like in After Effects, a mini version of Photoshop transform mode.

    And moreover, I think it's better to have "Space" button work as navigator in Record mode just like in Rig mode, instead of as play button. Maybe "Shift + Space" can be used as the alternative of play button in Record mode.

    And lastly, is it just me, or the navigation hand (space button held) sometimes not…

  4. Encoding time with AI background puppet

    We imported a 3840x2160 AI file to use as a background in Ch. We had it scaled to 50% to fill the 1920x1080 video we wanted to create. The preview in Ch worked great, but when the Ch was pulled into AE it took forever to preview. It was just a 1 minute video, but when attempting to use Media Encoder to produce a video, it was going to take close to 4 whether coming from AE or directly from Ch.   6. " Fluid / Liquid" behavior. Why not do it?

    Why not do a "Fluid " behavior for Character animator?

    You already have the "particle" behavior, and all you got to do is make it fluid.

    Think about:

    Pouring a cup of water.

    Water running through a path.

    Or.. Water being pumped up and down pipes and through valves to push actuators such as hydraulic cylinders and motors... That is the stuff that I am working right now with Character animator.

    Maybe industrial hydraulic circuits may sound too intimidating for some, but just the animation of fluid running through pipes may not be too hard to do... you could even…

  7. Replay Hold Markers

    Please make replays open-able on their own timeline, and allow a hold marker, where the animation holds until the trigger is released and then it can play the remaining outro animation after the hold marker.

    Also if the replay is 5 minutes long with a short outro animation, if I trigger it for 5 seconds, and then let go, it should either end immediately or have the option to skip right to the end animation.

  8. Swap Set / Layer Picker flow between intermediaries

    Please enable a feature on layer picker or swap sets where it works just like a swap set, but it also plays the layers between each trigger to arrive at the new held frame.

    So if I had a group with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 in it, If I pressed 5, it would play 1,2,3,4,5 and hold on 5 (if latched for example) then if I hit 7, it would play 6,7 and hold on 7. Then if I hit 2, it would play 6,5,4,3,2 and hold on 2 etc.

    If there was a default layer, then if a trigger wasn’t latched it…

  10. Live scoreboard number counter

    Use CA as a interactive quiz/scoreboard. I would like a better way to add numbers and add the desired number increments to allow for live scoring.

    Using a shortcut/number input box the counter will change or plus button to add to the score. I can then set this up via a trigger so I can overlay the animation on top.

  12. copy/paste and re-scale all selected rigging

    Once you have a decent rig on one character, the task of doing this again on a similarly constructed character is super cumbersome.

    It would be hugely helpful if you could select groups of pins and sticks and manipulate them as a group (mirror, scale, rotate, free-distort)

    You can copy/paste, but you have to select pins and sticks one by one. NEED marquee selection of pins/sticks.

    Then with groups of pins/sticks selected, you should be able to mirror/scale/stretch/rotate/free-distort the locations of these pins/sticks.

    I think this would massively accelerate the adaptation of a rig from one character to another.

  13. Introduce a shy (like in AE) option in the timeline layer stack to focus on specific layers.

    In some cases it would be nice to be able to work on just one visible layer in the timeline. A shy option like in After Effects would help you decide what layers should be active in a certain moment.

  14. Viseme Pop-Up Menu Visual

    When you right click on a viseme in the timeline you get a menu which shows a list of phoneme option. It would be nice to have the specific mouth shape next to each phoneme. See attached.

  15. being able to make triggers with the controller ''joystick''

    if we can use the controller like the PlayStation controller or Xbox or pc controller to some triggers it will be easier. and everybody has one.

  16. Character control - video game style

    You already have left & right arrow keys to walking direction and generated walk cycles. You should include up and down arrows to include jump and duck actions also

  17. Full screen mode

    This would be nice for screening your character in a show on a projector or a tv that you have hooked up the program to. Where you don't see the record buttons. For preforming live without streaming. It could be used then easy for live shows on school without having to get it up in another program. I did my exam in this way, having my computer atached to a tv screen with HDMI from computer, then midi controlling everything from one drum mashin and to other midi devices. But it was sad that i couldent get the full screen,…

  18. Viseme order when pasting into AE

    The information available on how to do this is, at best, incomplete and at worst, wrong.

    Step #2 says to create a comp with the visemes "matching the order of visemes in Character Animator’s Visemes context menu" and gives an example of the order being Neutral, Aa, D "and so on".
    The problem is that in Character Animator (current version 2.11) the viseme order in the context menu is different. See screenshot.

    Just to complicate things, the layer order of the visemes in the default head PSD is different again.

  19. Adjustable frame rate for Face behavior

    It would be great if there was an option to adjust the frame rate of just the Face behavior at any time. I like the look of head movements when I change my scene frame rate to 12fps, but all body movements are too jittery for what I'm doing. Enabling the "Limit Camera to 12fps" option doesn't produce the same visual results as changing the scene frame rate, nor is it flexible since it can only be set before starting a recording.

  20. I would like to see more templates with various mouths types (preferable in Adobe Illustrator)
