  1. Frame rate very low even on a powerful 2019 Mac Pro system with fast SSD and GPU

    Great app, but as soon as I record the frame rate drops, resulting in a pretty jerky animation, which is particularly noticeable on draggers. I'm using a 12 core 2019 Mac Pro with an SSD Raid, 96GB RAM and a W5700X GPU, so it's unlikely to be the machine not being powerful enough, more likely it's not utilising it fully. Otherwise, maybe this could be solved with a feature that creates smooth tweening between the frames?

  2. Make it stop crashing!

    Crashes constantly. I imported a static image with a mouth set of visemes on top of it, nothin more. Anything that I click to try to test sync, or basically anything else, causes the application to close abruptly. Can't do anything.

  3. Compute Head Movement from Speech is erratic

    Currently, the option to Compute Head Movement from Speech produces unsatisfactory results. The head movement is erratic and independent parts of the face shift too far from their positions. This problem exists regardless of which puppet is used.

  4. MIDI Velocity Support

    I would love to see support for the velocity of a key press from a MIDI keyboard or pad. Often the nutcracker jaw and other lip sync does not follow the words very well, so having the ability to control the jaw with a key/button press on a MIDI keyboard would be great. If I tap lightly, the jaw opens a little, and if I tap hard, the jaw opens wide. Maybe this behavior could also be mapped to feet, so you could make a character dance just by tapping two different buttons.

  5. Distorted camera view with ElGato HD60 capture card and a gopro

    As the image shows, camera and microphone view looks skewed. Dont even know how to troubleshoot this.

  8. Trigger and Replay Artwork Creation

    Would like the ability after creating a trigger to be able to create artwork for it from within CA. Replays can get quite long. Maybe being able to select a specific frame from the timeline and then similarly to premiere's export frame (ctrl+shift+e) the frame could then be instantly applied to the selected trigger.

  9. Execute trigger from latched trigger

    I like being able to latch triggers and end with "stop/sustain" so my characters can hold a pose with the push of a button. But I don't like having to unlatch the trigger before executing a new trigger. I would like move from one stop/sustained trigger to another without having to unlatch in-between. Basically I want my triggers to override and any latched behavior so I can move from one dynamic pose or motion directly into another.

  10. I want the same reproducibility in the recording of physical property behaviors as in the recording.

    I recorded a scene in which a puppet flows in the wind using the physical properties behavior. However, when I play it back, it does not behave the same. Each time I play it back, the behavior is different.
    I hope that the next version will have the same behavior.

  11. Arm twisting/torsion tracking possibility, easier way to control arm bending

    My main issue still is setting up the correct arm movement with Limb IK-behaviour. After hours of trial-and-error I almost give up. The bending, stretching and flipping of the elbows and shoulders seems impossible to set up. Especially the fact that -to move the puppet's arms- you naturally make a torsion/twisting movement to make an inside or outside hinge movement with your elbow. Is there a way to let Character Animator detect that twist movement? Maybe with a dedicated colored shirt or some kind of stickers on the arms? Without the right movement detection I'm afraid it wil always look…

  12. Eyeglass facial tracking workaround guide

    A guide to how you can minimize errors and employ workarounds for facial tracking problems associated with wearing glasses. These problems include random blinking of one eye, one or more eyes remaining shut, and one or more eyes looking in the wrong direction. Maybe a setting to lock eyes being synchronous that can be turned on/off. Maybe a timer for blinking that you can select instead of camera input. Maybe a way the video can take a still and then you confirm what is the eyelid, what is the pupil, and maybe confirm what are the glasses.

  13. Adjusting visemes

    When manually adjusting visemes it only moves a frame at a time. If I want it to move less than a frame I have to cut it which slows the process down.

    It would be helpful to be able to adjust a viseme more accurately than jumping to a frame at a time.

  14. Triggered Replays Cause Dropping of Frames Over Time

    Over time, it appears that fps drops lower and lower with use of replays. I have puppets with several triggered replays. With each triggered replay the fps gets lower and lower. This happens regardless of whether or not I am streaming using OBS or whether I am just working in Character Animator alone. Eventually the fps gets down to close to single digits and the only way to remedy the situation is to exit and restart Character Animator. I have monitored CPU and RAM usage and those numbers are no where close to being suspected of being the cause. A…

  15. BUG: color is wrong when imported into Premiere Pro via Dynamic Link

    Importing a CA scene into Premiere via Dynamic Link will result in the scene looking red when dropped into a sequence. The scene/puppet look fine when loaded into the Source monitor but in the timeline/program monitor they are bright red (see screenshot). This bug can be avoided by turning off GPU acceleration in Project Settings are running with software only, (which is not ideal). Please fix!

  17. Rest/Delay on Layer Picker (Pose-to-Pose)

    I am using the Pose-to-Pose feature a lot. It would be nice to have an option in the Layer Picker that is similar. F. e. setting a minimum pose duration before it goes to the next layer.

  18. Non-Static Brows

    When I upload an audio and "Compute Lip Sync Take From Scene Audio," everything is great, save for the eyebrows. I've tried creating a behavior, such as using a shortcut to move them to expressive positions, but it look extremely choppy, especially compared to the rest of the face. Is there a way that an expressive eyebrow behavior can be added to the Default Puppet Track Behaviors, such as Eye Blink Frequency? Thank you for the help!

  19. Frame by Frame animation doesn't really work

    Whenever I create a pose, I'm stuck with Character Animator reverting to the rest pose on the next frame.

    If I create a keyframe on frame 1 and frame 24 and then set the playhead to 13, the character should be posed as a roughly 50/50 blend of the two. Though it's "calculated" not a hard keyframe. If I move a limb or the body etc, that should create a keyframe at that point.

    What happens instead is, every time I ctrl+2, and then advance, or even just hold in place, the puppet reverts to it's "neutral" pose and to…

  20. AI will not load from Character Animator

    So I am pressing Ctrl + E to bring up AI so I can edit my puppet but all that does is duplicate my puppet, It does not bring me to AI. Even if I were to click edit original the same thing happens.

    This might be a bug issue. I've already tried uninstalling AI and CA and reinstalling but that didn't do anything. Please help.
