full body tracking and using pre-recorded video in lieu of live
Hi
I see that you can now do full body tracking in Maxon Cinema 4D
https://www.maxon.net/en-us/news/maxon-news/article/introducing-moves-by-maxon/
Is Adobe Character likely to create something similar, even if it only tracks head/face, eyes, mouth, hands, hips and feet?
What is also useful, is that the original camera info can be pre-recorded rather than live, so a client, actor, director can send you a clip of what they have in mind. Even stock foortage could be used a bit like MoCap.
Thanks
Simon

I want to capture arms and hands as well.
You could use a hardware method such as "Oculus Quest". -

Full body rigging/tracking just announced by Google - see link - looks very Ch in rigging and tracking. Partnership potential?

After Effects and premiere have VR display preview. But what about putting those hand trackers (oculus touch, vive wand) to good use? They have analog triggers, buttons and joysticks plus 3D positional and rotational tracking. I can't help but think that all of that real time data could be used in a more traditional pupeteering way.
You don't really need the output to be in VR or even 3D. Just use the input controlers as is like how Henson and co used for their Muppets.
Would probably easier as input for some of us than the webcam setups
