Puppet App Player
I sell a lot of puppets, but I, and many other designers, could sell ALOT more if the customer didnt have to sign up for CH to operate the puppet. Bare with me, I have a solution. Its not only the cost, but some people find using the software difficult if they are not use to PC.MAC based programs, many today are use to using simple to load and play apps. What I propose is you build an app player that could operate .puppet files. I am not saying do it for free. Sell it for $50, I can get…

Folders in Trigger Panel
When there are a lot of triggers/swap sets on a puppet, working in the trigger panel gets unwieldy, It would help if we could create folders in which to put triggers already made, just like we can create folders in the Project panel to tidy it up when it gets crowded.

Reduce the size of the trigger on the panel controls
I use a lot of triggers, but they all do not fit on the panel. their size is large. Please enter the option to reduce them as on the screen on the left side.
I also did not understand exactly how I can assign the "[" key as well as the numeric keypad, which is located on the right

Alternative to black program interface
Could Character Animator please offer an alternative interface colour ('light') to the black interface - just as Photoshop does, for example. Depending on the time of day, weather etc. it can be really hard to see some screen elements for my setup.

I want to create Scripts to Character Animator, is it possible?
Where is SDK documentation? CEP PANELS? JSX add-ons?
6 votesStill interested in your thoughts on Dan’s comment below:
“Out of curiosity, what kinds of scripts do you want to add? We’ve considered various sorts of SDK support, but feedback on what ways you want to extend the app would help us decide on how to prioritize those efforts.”

Keep Audio Track Visible.
Would be really helpful to have the audio track locked so it doesn't scroll in the Timeline. Keeping the waveform visible even when scrolling up and down.

Improving user interface
The user interface color desperately needs to have the flexibility to change like in other Adobe programs. The black background is way too dark!

move the "mouse wheel" timeline left and right
It would be nice to navigate the timeline with the wheel mouse (hold down the mouse wheel and move it left and right)
4 votesIf you hold down the Shift key while spinning the mouse wheel, it should scroll the Timeline horizontally.

More Keyboard Triggers
Open up the other keys on a keyboard to be used for triggers. Especially the Function Keys. Also, would be great to be able to add a modifier on triggers.
4 votesYou can add a parentheses with the keystroke in it at the end of the layer name to automatically create a trigger.

CLIP LABELS
Would be nice to have the tracks labeled in the Timeline. The triggers are labeled.
Sure would make it easier to find which track is which.

The ability to invert the mask and choose would be huge.
Ive seen others mention something like this before but it would be huge to be able to invert the clipping mask. Every other adobe program has this ability so Im guessing this is an issue to be fixed more than a feature request. The work arounds necessary because this doesnt exist are so time consuming, if they work at all.

Visual indication when latch mode trigger is active
In Character Animator (v3.4), it is sometimes difficult to tell which latch-mode triggers are active.
This makes it hard to get the puppet back into its default mode, especially when multiple latch triggers are active simultaneously.
It would be very useful if activated latch triggers in the Trigger Panel could visually indicate their state (by changing color for instance).
In addition, currently buttons in the Controls Panel flash briefly when clicked. For latch triggers, it would make sense for them to remain highlighted (or some other visual indication, like a highlighted border) for the entire time the trigger is active.

Light Theme Interface for Eye Health
Can you please add a light theme interface so I am not straining my eyes to work in Character Animator? This black/dark theme is particularly a problem in an office with sunlight and is causing my eyes to become sore. Adding this option for a lighter theme or just more control will help my eyes working on Character Animator. Thank you.

Rename from timeline
Be able to change the name from the timeline.
This is an easier way to see/change names rather than going back into RIG.3 votes -

Viseme order when pasting into AE
The information available on how to do this is, at best, incomplete and at worst, wrong.
Referring to the page here: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/adobe-character-animator/using/export.html#LipSyncTakeexportforAfterEffects
Step #2 says to create a comp with the visemes "matching the order of visemes in Character Animator’s Visemes context menu" and gives an example of the order being Neutral, Aa, D "and so on".
The problem is that in Character Animator (current version 2.11) the viseme order in the context menu is different. See screenshot.Just to complicate things, the layer order of the visemes in the default head PSD is different again.
So… which is the…

Make example puppets easily accessible after starting a new project
When you first open Character Animator you are given a list of example puppets, but it's not easy to go back to that menu after selecting one.
3 votesHave you pressed the little home icon in the top left of your screen?
